Prodigy Payment Systems sent me a PIN machine for debit card transactions.  Then they double charged me -- the swipe fee AND a debit fee for every transaction run thru there.  Yes, the PIN machine would have been useful for transactions over $80.  Few, if any, of my transactions are that much.  When they were confronted with this the said they didn't know why I was set up that way.  Duh -- so they could over charge me and get more fees in their pocket.

I contacted them a year ago about quitting their service and was told I still had a year on my contract.  Ok.  I stayed -- paying their 12.50 quarterly fees, their $95 annual fee, dealing with their PCI compliance forms.  I contacted them January 5th to find out about ending my service with them in March.  I was told that I had to give 90 day written notice and since I had not done that 9 days ago, my service was already renewed for another year.  I was not notified in any way.

I have also had trouble with their processing, getting COMM ERRORs often.  Finally figured out that if I cancelled the transaction and tried again, there wouldn't be any double charges.  They did not tell me this.  And I had to contact them when there were double charges -- which were not put into my account, but the customer was charged twice.

DO NOT USE PRODIGY!

I was in contact with Prodigy -- a number of times.  They just couldn't figure out why I was set up with a PIN pad and charged double -- and they made NO effort to remedy that fact.  They just advised me to quit using the PIN pad.  Thanks a lot.

I WAS in contact with Prodigy about stopping using their services.  They were nasty, uncooperative, "we have to go by the rules" -- when there were extenuating circumstances.  Their attitude -- tough luck Chuck.

After contacting to my Attorney General, a NICE guy from Prodigy contacted me.  He dealt with the circumstances about my quitting using their services in a pleasant, thoughtful manner.  He said  was sorry about how I was treated and it did not set well with him how they were enforcing their "rules" which didn't have to be done the way it was.  I APPRECIATED that!

I would still not recommend Prodigy.  They ripped me off with the PIN pad machine.  Their customer service people were not helpful.

I am glad to get the resolution I got, but I would not use them again....
