ProductTestPanel Ripoff dishonest false adverstising Columbia South Carolina

ProductTestPanel.com uses extremely misleading advertising with regards to their New Member Incentive Programs. I followed an advertising link from a reputable web-site that promised a free G5 iMac.

I knew there would be a catch but I was intrigued and read all the fine print. I saw that they would sell my information to everyone they could so I set up an new email account to handle the spam and didn't worry about the direct mail or telemarketing as those are fairly easy to deal with. I knew that I needed six "advertiser action points" and that must consist of two points from three groups. What I was NOT able to asertain was what the content of the offers actually was. There were additional conditions, but they seemed do-able.

I decided that if I spent $100-$150 and suffered though a certain amount of headaches it would be worth it.

The first two levels were reasonable, I ended up spending about $25 on S/H fees. Each offer had conditions whereby you had to cancel your membership within 10-14 days or you would pay more for the next shipment of stuff. That kind of headache I could deal with.

The third level had three options (I later found a fourth on their website) which required two of the following: $400; getting a car loan; or $180.

I stopped right there and began cancelling stuff as fast as I could, but now all my personal information is available to them for at least 72 hours to sell as they desire.

This is a despicable business.
