February 28, 2008 (Thursday, about 2 AM their time) I'm a teacher. ordered a projector lamp for my classroom Needed it for Tuesday March 6th.

March 3rd I called to confirm shipment. Customer Service told me that their vendor had no stock and that they would "Immediately ship it to me and I would receive it by Wednesday" (March 7th). I had paid for 2-day shipping so they told me that they would "airship" it to me. Projector Lamp Center charged my account on this date. I got the impression that had I not called I would never have heard from them.

March 5th I emailed their customer service group "Sage" and I was assigned a customer service incident number.

March 5th I called Customer Service again. They told me that the product had not been shipped yet. They told me that they didn't know what the problem was but it would be airshipped to me by Friday. They told me that they had done this as we spoke and the vendor was "on it". I was told I could absolutely count on recept by Friday, March 7th.

March 7th I called Customer Service again. They told me that the product had not been shipped. They offered to "start over and begin the process again".

March 7th I waited to talk to their Customer Service Supervisor, Crystal who told me that "she didn't know why I hadn't received my order, or why it had not been shipped but she would take care of it and I would just have to trust her." She told me "It would be airshipped and I would receive it by Monday, March 11th." I asked for expedited shipping (Saturday) and she said they wouldn't do this, ever, and I would just have to wait.

March 9th, Filed complaint online with Georgia Better Business Bureau.

March 11th. Almost two weeks. Called Customer Service and talked to Crystal. I asked to talk to her boss. After 40 minutes I ran out of time. She told me she "would contact me immediately with the tracking information". It is 10:30 PM in Georgia and I somehow feel that I won't ever be seeing that tracking information.

You are probably smart enough to see a pattern here. I will never buy a thing without checking this site. Almost four hundred dollars. If they were some poor fool on the street and robbed me they would already be in jail. Apparently Georgia has different laws for people with suits who commit their crimes on the internet.

Raleigh McLemore

March 7th I checked my email complaint number I checked my "update" information on their site and found that a "Crystal Cain" had "closed" my complaint on this date.

Projector Lamp Company, They're BAAACCK, Steal money twice!

AUTHOR: Rmclemore - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, June 15, 2008

Projector Lamp Company apologized and returned my money after not sending product or services. They apologized here on RipOff and to the Better Business Bureau and to me. The money was returned. I wrote it off to experience. On June 11th Projector Lamp Company took the money from my credit card AGAIN. Of course I would never do business with their company again, but they probably knew that. There is no pretense of a product being ordered or received, they've admitted that there was no product delivered on line here, they just charged my account for a product, never sent, ordered months ago.

Do not give this company your credit card number. Whether you believe I'm an confused customer, or whether I'm a legitimately abused customer you will, if my experience serves, be offering your credit card number to thieves. I am presently in contact with my credit card number to stop the second charge.

I cannot tell you how much I regret doing business with Projector Lamp Company. To have them attack my credit card account two months after they apologize for taking my money. I hope this helps you as it has been a massive waste of my time.

Credit Card Company Says it Returns Money

AUTHOR: Rmclemore - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, March 24, 2008

Projector Lamp Company NEVER returned a call. NEVER returned and email and NEVER contacted me during this entire mess. The only time I ever heard anything from them is when I demanded to talk to them. They did not send a product and continually said they were. What they can't return is the incredible loss of time and frustration.

Their letter stating that the "money is in the mail" is welcome news although I believe it may have something to do with the credit card company agreeing to investigate a fraudulent charge (the credit card company had already returned my money so I assume that Projector Lamp Company is paying Visa back).

The most successful tactic in trying to keep this company from ripping me off was the use of the credit card companies "dispute" process and my assertion that Projector Lamp Company was acting in a way that is indistinguishable from a criminal enterprise.

The Better Business Bureau is doing some kind of investigation as is the Attorney General. I wish them well and will follow up on this as things go forward

This company is "indistinguishable from a criminal enterprise" will have to be modified as I don't believe some Easter European rip-off factory would actually return my money and would probably sell my credit card information. I now believe that "this company is perfectly willing to take your money and force you into a massive waste of time and energy to get it returned while showing no attempt to actually get you a product" is an accurate way of describing my experience.

I assume that there are folks who haven't had a similar experience as mine and I'm glad that things have worked for them. If you have never used this company to do business with I would suggest that your life to date has gone well and your failure to do business with Projector Lamp Center shows that you are a more discriminating and intelligent customer than I.

I will not make the same mistake again.

Projector Lamp Center Provided Information and Service Requested

AUTHOR: Customer Service Team - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, March 24, 2008

Although we deeply regret when a valued customer has a bad opinion of our products and services we do like to offer another point of view when circumstances warrant.

Raleigh of Bancroft Middle School, Oakland, CA ordered a Viewsonic lamp on 2/28/2008. This lamp was not in stock at our warehouse but was shown in stock at the manufactureres distribution center. As in many cases with larger retailers Projector Lamp Center uses a method of Drop Shipping products directly from manufacturer distribution in order to save money and time.

Raleigh contacted our customer service team on several occasions to inquire about the lamp shipment. Each time our Projector Lamp Center customer service team contacted the warehouse and was told the lamp would be shipping. Unfortunately the warehouse did not follow through on the commmitments.

On March 11th Raleigh requested to cancel the order. The order was promptly cancelled with the request. Our Projector Lamp Center customer service support database automatically closes the case history for an order when a cancellation is completed. A complete refund for this transaction has been approved and is presently being processed through the merchant processing system.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.
