Protect America Inc. Deceptive Monitoring Agreement with an unknown auto-renewal clause Round Rock, Texas

Looks like I have been shafted with a hidden clause of Protect America's security monitoring agreement.  I have tried to cancel only to find out that I did not send written notice 60 days prior to end of the contract.  Well the information is well hidden only to find out after a phone call to the rudest and most smart-assed representative that I had the disgust to speak with.  I now have the pleasure of living with a monitoring agreement that is not 100% effective.  I have tripped the alarm untold times and have only been contacted to give the security code about 3 times since I have had the system which is 3 years now.
If you find this helpful in dealing with this ripoff company then I have not wasted my time.
If I need to know something from you about sending a notice of cancellation to them and any other information on dealing with this bunch I would appreciate it.  Specifically do I need to wait in order to send in the cancellation just prior to the minimum 60 days notice or can I send it now registered with return receipt signature and trust it will be cancelled in a year?
