Prudential Insurance Company of America Corrupt Company - How can they sleep at night? Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

After paying for Long Term Disability for years and years though work, unfortunately we needed to file a claim.  SSI was awarded right away, no need to appeal.  Diagnosis was arthritis...RA.  Prudential put themselves out to be our friend during this stressful and difficult time.  The claim was granted right away and it was stated it would be paid for over ten years. 

BUT, let me now tell you how this really works.  The claim workers check on medical records constantly.  When there was a "good" evaulation from physician records per one of "their" surveys...our claim was cut off immediately!  About 3 months from when it was granted.

Prudential determines if you are disabled by their standards.  NOT by the fact that you were granted SSI nor the fact that your reputable physican has signed you permanently out of work.  They came back and said "they" (which could be a registered nurse employed by them) determined that you are not disabled by their standards and can work a job as....

Prudential banks on the fact that you are too ill/disabled and financially strapped and will not pursue an appeal.

This needs to come to light, employers should not be having insurance available as a benefit to employees that is corrupt.  They should look out for their employees.  If anyone reads this post and has any power of anykind...consider helping to make a change in this way:  If the Federal Government grants SSI, then if you have a valid insurance policy for disability then that company HAS TO HONOR THEIR POLICY AND PAY THE CLAIM, for as long as the employee is disabled through SSI.

I had had a rude awakening as to all the red tape and paperwork and run around (when you absolutely feel ill) their is when dealing with disability insurance.  Believe me, the insurance company will only work towards "diapproving" your illness or claim.  They do not want to pay out any money.
