I was sent the typical publishers clearing house awards so before you have to enter their contest you have to look through products that you might want to purchase (and that's where the scam starts)
While I was glancing through various products I happen to see some that I thought I might like to purchase if I were buying so I placed 2 items in my cart but I didn't proceed with the purchase I didn't go to the check out or confirm page I simply closed up the page thinking I might come back later and change or/ delete the whole thing.
However, to my surprise I was sent a congraulations letter saying that my products had shipped. I called the number on the page and told them how could you send out something without first having my permission to purchase it. I was then told "well we can offer you 50% off if you like to buy it" I said no I would rather just cancel it and not accept it when it comes to my house. I was then told "no you can't just not accept it you have to pay for the return it because it goes back to the warehouse and you would still be responsible for the billing because we don't have anyway of knowing it was returned"
I told the person I was speaking with I don't wish to pay for something that I didn't confirm I would pay for as I shop all the time online and I place things in my cart and the company may send me a letter to remind me things are still in my cart and at that time I have a choice to either pay and confirm or delete the item from my cart but NEVER have they sent me out an item that I hadn't confirm to pay for.
Then this person said "you had an opportunity to deny it before being sent because we sent you 3 notices" I then said "no you only sent me one notice and that was that the items had already been shipped I never gave you permission to send them period and I'm not going to pay for a return that I didn't say I was going to pay for this is a rip off scam and I'm going to report you to the rip off report and I want to speak to your supervisor" The person on the other end said that they were not there and that they would return the call in 2 business days.
I have sense deleted anything that comes from Publishers Clearing house as Junk so that it will never enter my email box again. These people are truly in the art of ripping people off and should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
