Publishers Clearing House Consumers Beware!
So several years ago Publishers Clearing House was in court for fraudulent advertising and misleading marketing practices. They were found liable and paid a hefty amount in damages to consumers. Well they have found a new way to defraud consumers. Out of sheer boredom I started entering their sweepstakes early in the year and got swept in by the constant seduction of the possibility of winning. While they claim that purchasing from them will not increase your chances of winning, lets be real no one goes to the publishers clearing house website because it's the go-to place for quality merchandise or good deals, in fact after making a few purchases and being blind-sided by ridiculously high shipping charges I started looking at comparative prices for the items they subtly badger you into purchasing. I selected several items they were marketing as discounted and better deals and found that all but one of the products were almost double the cost of what other sites were selling them for. Realistically if you are entering daily online through-out the entry process you will have endless taunts practically begging you to process something and even if you give in and purchase something, that will not stop the constant pop-ins asking you to make additional purchases. They will also send out mailers that will have little contest within them that you can only enter if you are placing an order.
On top of all that aggravation you will have to play endless boring games and mindless searches to obtain entries. I sadly have complied to all theses hollow tactics for a chance, albeit futile and stupid to win a sweepstakes. Well I received a rude awakening 3 days ago when I tried to access my online account to make a payment and was denied access. After several attempts and several calls to customer service I was informed that they had in fact changed my account number without any authorization from me and had not even informed me. They had also merged my account information into a completely different account number under a different email and a different address. So the end result after seven months of spending a small fortune and entering religiously to improve my chances, it now appears that they have given all of my purchase credits, my VIP status and all of my entries to someone else. I suspect that it's probably a friend of an employee who can collect any possible prize and share the profits. So I seriously believe that after you spend time and money on this bogus sweepstakes they will eliminate your chances of winning by deleting your account denying you access and passing the winnings onto their own staff members. Just a new way around their never ending SCAM! I had sincerely come to believe that they were legitimate...don't make the same mistake I did!
