We went to PBA for two and a half years. While my daughters did get some skills from it, the departure process with them is extremely ugly. Our contract had expired six months prior to our departure. We paid through the end September. We did not go at all after the end of September. They then tried to collect $348.50 from us stating that we owe for October and November, even though we did not attend at all. I contacted an attorney, who wrote them a letter stating that we were out of contract because it had expired six months earlier. They completely disregarded the letter and sent us to collections. I have filed a complaint against them with the Better Business Bureau and the Attorney General's office. I am contesting the collection proceedings with an attorney.

After leaving, we found out that they have a sliding scale of fees. We were paying $300 per month for two kids to attend (the price that was on their price list). We have found that there are many people paying much less than us with some paying $100 per month unlimited for one child, and another family paying $250 "cash" price. One unfortunate family was paying more.

After you leave, they talk about your children in a very negative manner (especially if you go somewhere else). They promise you a scholarship if you follow their program to a T, and discourage even playing on any leagues. They want you to sign up for their leagues only, and not play outside of their facility.

My daughters are both in another program now, and are working on correcting some bad habits they learned at PBA. Be very careful, and do not believe all that you hear from them. They can be very convincing. Ultimately, your kid is a paycheck to them, nothing more.

I am sorry to hear they are still pulling the same garbage..it is one thing to rip off the parents but to verbally harrass the kids is another story.  My child has done extremely well it did take awhile to break the bad habits and to get past the negative feelings associated with basketball, but they will get through it.  I was on the cash program unlimited, which meant your 5 year old could be playing against my 10 year old...oh yeah that is a great idea!!!

When coaches hear where they learned their "skills" they just roll their eyes..they know they have some work to do,  but there are some great "fixers" out there!
