My Quibids review after having tried their site after seeing the commercial I have to tell people to stay away if you do not want to lose a $100.00 and get nothing in return for it then just stay away. Their commercial promises you a good deal saying you can get a $2,000.00 TV for $123.90 what they don't tell you right away is that each penny ($0.01) cost sixty cents ($0.60) this means that this TV will cost $7434.00 in the end and you can only bid in penny increments. Now to be
honest this doesn't mean that you would had made all those bids, but you could make only $1000.00 worth in bids and still walk away with nothing, also those bids you pay for you know in bulk so they really cost $60.00 upfront expire. Also about shills and bots I can not tell you for certainty that Quibids uses those but when you look at the bidding that goes on you have to wonder why someone would pay $500.00 (paid bids not voucher bids) worth in bids for a monitor that you could get at nxxxx, txxxxx, axxxxx (((REDACTED))) or even ebay for $150.00.
Now if you don't want that previous mentioned $1,000.00 in bids to mean nothing you could use their buy it now, this buy it now feature is another screw you move by them, they will allow you to use your $1,000.00 in bids
towards the item, but they will not mention that the same item might had only really costed at any other website a $1,000.00 to begin with (to be fair no store I know of actually tells you their competitors price,
but they also don't expect you to spend money and end up with nothing), yes they inflate their value price.
So in the end I will do you a favor, my advice is that nothing in life is free and there is no way you will get that $2,000.00 TV for pennies, do your friends a favor too if they think about getting on to Quibids tell them what I have told you "stay away from schemes like this one".
sorry, allowing you to give a competitors name would instigate others to just file against their competition, to only come back later to suggest their company your comments on this policy are welcome! Quibids was on channel 4 news a few weeks back.UPSET people from Oklahoma was trying trying to win some electronics. and kept getting out bid and lost a lot of money. now some people from Oklahoma are taking steps to filing lawsuits aginst Quibids. this was on the local news a while back. it is Fraud AND NOT A REAL AUCTION SITE. i signed up wit this weak site Quibids but it wanted my credit card info to proceed to bid. now i keep getting emails from this site to complete the registration process. a friend from work tryed Quibids he lost 400$ in the first week, he never won anything every time he placed a bid he got out biided in the matter of seconds he said.
from what i read and seen on the news its not a good site to nid on items. come ON a ipad 2 for 1 penny ok yea what ever. i watched the auctions on this so called site and the prices goes up fast.
BBB check them out for the complaints filed aginst Quibids..
all i can say is stay away its all a money making site. i have not read 1 report or seen a where winning bidders have posted what they won for a penny or even 10$ for 1000$ TV or 700$ dollar ipad for a penny.

Will the Quibids employee please explain the lawsuits filed against quibids in District Court?
I'll help you out with the case/docket numbers:
1:2011CV01013 Reason: other statutes
5:2010CV01277 Reason: fraud. I believe this mentions unfair and deceptive business practices.
Take your time, we'll wait.

Federal District Court

Perhaps the employee would explain the lawsuit against quibids in Federal District Court?
I've already posted the case numbers and so far, NO EMPLOYEE has commented about these lawsuits. One case specifically mentions UNFAIR and DECEPTIVE business practices.
Let's see if this employee will comment about this.

Quibids responses

Your responses are insulting to say the least. Your "business model" may be legal ( so far ) but it is far from ethical and you know it.
Free bids is a play on words, there are no free bids. The buy now prices are inflated and you are not authorized dealers.
This is simply a scheme for you to get rich by taking advantage of most people's inattention to detail.
What you are doing is apparently legal but please don't insult us by trying to pretend it is ethical. You should be ashamed but I'm sure you're not.

No that is not the worse case...

"There still seems to be some confusion and we're happy to explain. It's
fine to do the calculations on our auctions, but one always needs to
take into consideration the amount of free bids and BuyNows that are
utilized in every auction. This drastically changes the end number."
One if you actually read my report you would see that I addressed the buy it now and your so called retail prices, I also addressed the free bids (which are not "free" in a true sense of the word). I just also happened to mention some things your company does not mention right away and keeps in the fine print.
"Worst case should be someone walking away from our site with a product at retail"
Worst case is that someone loses all their money and gets nothing in return for it.

We simply would like to bring more entertainment to online shopping with a fun and unique experience. Worst case should be someone walking away from our site with a product at retail. With that said, our business model may still not be for everyone and that's ok.

Clearly not an auction
AUTHOR: Ramjet - (U.S.A.)
SUBMITTED: Tuesday, July 12, 2011
This and other 'penny auctions' are not auctions by any stretch of the imagination. When was the last time you went to an auction, bid on something, didn't get the item and had to pay anyway while walking away with nothing?
Look, if a "bid" goes to a one dollar (one hundred cents) they have already made $60.00 - $.60 X 100. If the bid goes to $100.00, they have made $6,000.00
This a brilliant get rich quick scheme for the owners, nothing more. Please don't contribute to them.
I have no idea why this is legal and I sincerely hope that at some point it won't be.

Please....don't tell me your BBB rating!
AUTHOR: Inspector - (USA)

It's garbage! A high BBB rating means you are paying your dues faithfully.
These auctions are like those claw machines where you put money in and try to grab a prize. You spend $20 to $30 and maybe get a $10 dollar watch. Oh well, you will not stop people from using this auction, these are the same individuals that throw money at psychics and love potions or spells.

First if you even had actually read my report you would see that your reply actually supports what I said as I pretty much described your business practice, however I described it from my view not the view of a paid employee reading a script. Second you don't have an A rating from the BBB you have an A minus (as of 7/12/11) rating. Third "No one has to walk away empty-handed or out any money" you mean only if they don't listen to your advertisements about the great deals ($123.90 for 42" LCD tv) they can get and are willing to pony up extra money for an inflated (things that cost 2/3 of the price elsewhere) value of the item and also if they are only using paid bids and not won bids. Fourth "One can sign up for free, but the initial bid pack purchase is $60 which is 100 bids" which has to be paid before you can use the site and you don't call that a sign up fee? Fifth I only said that the bidding that takes place does not make sense such as people bidding 2-3 times the value the item, not that you definitely use shills/bots only that the bidding that takes place makes you wonder.

All Information Stated on Our Site
AUTHOR: J4me10 - (United States of America)

I'm sorry to hear you feel that way, but there seems to be some confusion on how we operate. I'm happy to explain our business model. First, we operate on a 'pay-to-participate' business model. Each bid costs $0.60 and customers purchase those bid in what we call Bid Packs. One can sign up for free, but the initial bid pack purchase is $60 which is 100 bids. Every auction starts at $0.00. When a user places a bid, the product price goes up 1 penny. In the event a user loses an auction, he/she then has the option to utilize the BuyNow feature that enables him/her to purchase the product at retail, minus the cost of bids spent in that auction. No one has to walk away empty-handed or out any money.
All this information can be found on our site, in addition to the QuiBids101 section which gives more information on special features on our site, along with tips and suggestions on how to participate with our services.
We do not employ shills or have bots of any kind. We have been accredited by the BBB, with an A rating, since 2010 and strive to uphold this rating by our ethical business practices. Should you have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact our support at support@quibids.com. We're happy to help!

Just one more thing.
AUTHOR: stefen - (United States of America)
SUBMITTED: Wednesday, June 22, 2011
Just one more thing that I came across, note this was brought to my attention by another user.
ONE OF THE REASONS NOT TO BUY EXPENSIVE ITEMS FROM QUIBIDS.COM IS.........
THE PRODUCTS ARE NOT BACKED BY MANUFACTURER'S WARRANTIES....SINCE QUIBIDS IS NOT THE AUTHORIZED RESELLER OF ANY PRODUCTS....YOU GET NO MFG WARRANTY. THAT MAKES IT WORSE THAN BUYING REFURBISHED ELSEWHERE!!!
So before you say to yourself, "okay, I was going to buy an iPad
anyway....so let's see if I can win one...but I'll be okay paying the
buy-it-now (almost always inflated) price because I'd have bought it anyway?".....well...if you would buy an iPad or a TV or an iRobot or any electrical device at 30% off retail with no warranty - that's crazy. I just learned the hard way.
And it does not state their retail status anywhere on their website.
Hopefully I have given you enough info to make the smart decision and stay away from Quibids, however if you still journey there then don't say you haven't been warned.

Some more details that I should had mention.

Forgot to add something, okay there are a few people who don't believe me when I tell them to stay away from Quibids, they say their friends have won a few auctions and so on, what they don't realize is that Quibids starts you off in beginners auctions. Auctions that you and maybe 2-3 other people can see, this takes place for the first few auctions about 3-4 I believe these auctions often literally go for a penny, simply because no one else is bidding on them because no one else can see them, after you win about at least 2 of these beginner's auctions you are then forced to go up against their regular bidders in regular auctions where it quickly becomes apparent that you are not going to walk away with anything that is a bargain, again this is where I believe shills (people who up the price for the company) and bots (same thing just apps not real people) come in simply because the bids (usually 2-4 times the items value) that people make don't make sense unless someone is telling them to do that or someone has programmed them to do that. Also a few more details about these beginners auctions one they will not get your $60.00 (initial sign up fee) back in anyway or give you value for your $60.00, most of these auctions are for very cheap items like bids packs (totally useless, they do not count towards the items actually price only bought bids do not won voucher bids) and a couple of different $10.00 cheap gift cards. After winning 2 of these auctions you are then dropped into the real auctions and are forced to contend in a real auction with people that may be bots or shills designed to make sure you do not walk away with a bargain. Also there are some people online who will tell you that you can win don't listen to these people, these same people will supply you with a quibids link that will actually be a reference link. Clicking on this link and signing up will get them free bids and will get you nothing.
