I started college back in 2006, I went to a community college for 2 1/2 years and got no where. My mom influenced me to go to Rasmussen and I agreed, in a year I finally got my Associates degree in 2009. I took some time off to think about what career field I wanted to go into.

In the beginning of 2011 I decided to go back to college and get my Bachelors. I chose a different Rasmussen that was just built in Tampa because that was where I was living and the other one was too far to travel to.

When I signed up they put me in all online classes, I thought it was pricey for having just online studies and no face to face instructor time. They told me they didnt have any campus classes for my field (criminal justice). I sucked it up and agreed. From then on I had nothing but problems. The financial aid counselor was my worst nightmare. She not only was lazy she didnt do her job. I received V.A. Benefits and she never submitted my paperwork until the very last minute of the deadline which cost me a loss of a lot of money. I complained over 6 times and barely got any results.

They then got a new Financial Aid counselor and they never told me until I emailed them a question. I received emails stating that I no longer can receive a pell grant because I have been in school for 6 years. I found that absurd, but its a new law... not much I can do.

Now, I have always turned in my books since I have my mothers books. When I did this, I would receive credit and then a reimbursment of my fundings. Its been over 6 weeks since they told me they repackaged my loan and I still have not received any fundings. I emailed the Financial Aid Counselor today and he stated "you must send in the parental consent form for parent-student loans." I sent this to them twice and explained my parents will not be approved due to a recent bankruptcy and the fact that I am 24 I am more than capable of my own loans without my parents, since everything is already in my own name and my credit is more than okay.

He also stated that I wont receive any fundings due to the fact that I am not eligible to get the pell grant any longer and I will have to pay out of pocket. This blew my mind, the last time I spoke to this man he stated that upon graduation my out of pocket fee would be $1,200 or something along those lines. I said thats fine, now hes saying a bunch of additional fees and stuff? I am definitely suspicious.

Where is my money going? Where did my book credits go? I am only 6 months from graduating but I want answers and noone is there to give them to me, instead its a run-around. I will NEVER recommend this school to anyone. I would only say, run far away! Youll be cheaper going to a University and get actual education then you can going to Rasmussen.
