Yes, it's true that I wanted to use the services of web-detective and wanted my 3 day free trial membership, which I consented to spending $2.95 for (doesn't make sense in retrospect).

Imagine my surprise when they sent me an invoice telling me that they would give me Privacy Chest for free (no mention on the invoice about having to cancel that ripoff within 30 days) and that they would be charging me $78 a month, indefinitely. I don't do ANYTHING indefinitely.

Once I found out that web-detective was basically useless (within 24 hours) I sent an e-mail back indicating that I did not get the services I was paying for and that I wanted my $2.95 back and to CANCEL MY SUBSCRIPTION. Again, didn't know anything about Privacy Chest.

I called my credit card company immediately and informed them that I wanted to dispute any and all present and future charges from Razor Eye Media Group (so much for the indefinitely thing). I was told that I could dispute the charge if I'd had no action within 14 days.

Well, today I opened my e-mail and found an invoice from Web-Detectives partner in crime Privacy Chest. This time it was $38.83 they were looking to suck out of me. I called immediately and spoke with a woman named Cassandra who informed me that there were no supervisors in the office at the moment (classic example of inmates running the asylum). I was informed that the supervisor would arrive at 11 AM and that she would pass on my information.

3:00 PM ET. No call from the supervisor (surprise, surprise) so I reach out, yet again, to get this resolved. I get transferred to Richard Adams who is the only supervisor and apparently runs the asylum (although I find this very hard to believe). After informing him of his rudeness in not calling me back I told him I wanted my money back. He kept repeating the same "policy" that there would be no refunds unless there was a clerical error involved. He must have a little button on his back that prompts this response whenever he's asked a question because that's all I could get out of him.

Moving on, I asked him to transfer me to the next higher plane and was informed that the individual in question was not taking calls (imagine that). I did point out that, until I received my refund of $38.83 Richard and the whole nuthouse was working for ME and that I wanted satisfaction.

After an extended period of time listening to Richard drone on and on about the "policy" I asked him to please give me the name of the company he works for. Initially he informed me that the wasn't authorized to give out that information. So, now, I'm thinking this is a bigger scam than I originally thought. Finally, he relents and tells me that Razor Eye Media Group in Calgary, Alberta, Canada is the group that contracted his company (sorry if I just got you fired Richard).

So now, I'm going to call my credit card company with yet ANOTHER disputed charge.

ALL BE WARNED!!!! Web-Detective/Privacy Chest/Razor Eye Media is a complete and total ripoff and will do NOTHING, I repeat, NOTHING but quote you chapter and verse from their policy manual. My advice to you if you are a scam-ee (like me) is immediately contact your credit card company and alert them to the fraud.

Look, it's not the $2.95 or the $38.83. It's the sneak attack and the "you didn't fully read the agreement" that really isn't in English anyway.
