Rebateshq.com, Parago REBATE RIPOFF! Lies, lies, and more lies but no rebate! El Paso Texas

On 04-01-05, I purchased a VisionTek Xtasy graphics card from Fry's Electronics in Webster, TX. I mailed my $40 rebate submission on 04-10-05 to VisionTek $40 Rebate, 05-28857, PO Box 540027, El Paso, TX 88554-0027, and it was received on 04-14-05, one day ahead of the rebate submission deadline. I made copies of my rebate submission, filed them away, and forgot about them until 09-13-05, at which time I visited their website, www.rebatesHQ.com, and submitted an inquiry regarding my rebate status via email. No answer came.

On 09-14-05, I called their toll-free number (800-294-4371) and spoke with Maynor, who located my rebate information and informed me that he would "manually process the check and I should receive it within 15 days." No check came.

On 10-03-05, I called again and Alexandra told me she would "open an investigation" and "expedite the processing of my check as urgent" and I "should receive it within 15 days."

On 10-18-05, I called again and Thelma told me that "the check was printed on 10-05-05" and I "should receive it within 15 days." No check came.

On 11-01-05, I called again and spoke with Joe, who said "the check was sent to be printed on 10-27-05" and I "should receive it within 15 days." I asked to speak with his supervisor, and Charlie, who refused to give me his last name, told me the exact same thing that Joe told me.

It has been a few days short of 7 full months since I fully complied with all of their rebate instructions and they accepted my rebate submission. I do not believe this company intends to ever send me my money, but rather reads the same lying responses from a script. I am filing complaints with the FTC, the BBB, this website, and the Texas Attorney General.
