References-etc Shadowy Internet-based con-artists masquerading as a service Internet

The only way to contact this company is through their website using live chat, which obviously appears to be a contracted service with limited hours of operation. However, the the live chat was never operational even during the stated hours. Furthermore, this company doesn't display an address, phone number, email address or any other contact information on its website. After signing up for the service, this service provides a customer number that the customer uses to login to the website to monitor progress. 

After signing up for the service, I received a customer number with instructions for accessing my case information on their website. After that, I never received any other correspondence from them. After not hearing anything for nearly two weeks after signing up, I logged into the References-etc website and saw an entry was made in my account indicating that they made one attempt was made to contact the relevant party, but that they had been unsuccessful. The entry further stated that additional attempts would be made until they succeeded. 

I continued to monitor the the account for several after this, but the information was never updated after that initial entry. I entered a response in the feedback form within my account asking when I could expect the issue to be resolved. References-etc never responded to that inquiry. I then tried to contact them through the live chat, but found that the live chat link didn't work at all and was probably placed on their website as a deception. I looked for other contact information and found that there was no other way to contact them. 

Although all the signs were suspicious, I did us this company in the past and had been completely satisfied with their service. I suspect this company has since been bought out and is now operating offshore, where they can swindle former customers and attract new ones based on the reputation of the former operators.
