Every detail that could possibly go wrong went wrong with Relocation Van Lines.
The day started by the crew showing up 1.5 hours late for our move from Chicago to Michigan.
We had packed up the majority of our items and were paying them to carry the heavy stuff and furniture primarily.
The crew moved extremely slow and took over 5 hours to load the truck. keep in mind I lived in a 800 sf, 1 bed room apartment and I packed 90% of the goods already, and they had a freight elevator to use. They also put a huge dent in a wall and broke a light fixture.
I follow the truck to the weigh station (was paying by the pound) and the shipment was actually almost exactly what the quote was. This was the most positive event of the day. The truck leaves and I go to the bank to get cash and leave about 30 minutes behind the truck.
I arrive at my new home in Michigan, 188 miles away at 7:30 pm and am worried the truck will be there already. My worries were unfounded.
The truck finally arrives at 10:30 pm, a full 7+ hours after departure, after averaging about 26 miles per hour for the trip.
The crew leader gets out and comes inside and shows me a bill for an amount 280% larger than the estimate, saying that we used that much in packing supplies. He says that if we don't produce the cash he will leave and we will likely not see our stuff again. Keep in mind it is impossible we used the 55 boxes he said we did, as we packed nearly all of our stuff ourselves (over 30 boxes worth) and it was a TINY apartment.
After the threats I borrow money from nearby family and want to get this scary man out of my house and get my stuff back.
We tallied an inventory of what we used as the goods come in and it ends up being 1/4 of what we were forced to pay.
Well turns out the crew somehow managed to damage about $1,000 worth of stuff and also about $300 worth of stuff managed to disappear somehow. Also they damaged a wall in my BRAND NEW home. Oh yeah they also littered our front yard with their garbage and cigarette butts and made my fiancee cry.
Don't use these guys unless you want to get ripped off.
I am looking to form class action lawsuit, call me at (((ROR redacted))) if interested.

I forgot to mention the total I was ripped off!
Factoring in damage to walls in each location, damaged goods, stolen goods, and fraudulent overcharge of packing supplies, the total is close to $3,000.
