While you may not like that the person who owns the property wants a background check, it IS well within their rights to know what type of person they are renting to. THEY don't know if youre secretly a rock star and you have a "habit" of wrecking places. THEY don't know if youre a drug dealer. THEY don't know if youre a pedophile. This IS all information that would show up in a back ground check.
