repwest insurance company  What a rip-off!!! Phoenix Arizona

We took out insurance on our U-haul rental. When we had water damage the infor they requested was ridiculous. Receipts for the items (who keeps receiopt for clothes or books or wrapping paper, etc.,???. After they sent us the paperwork for the claim, it shows a $100.00 deductable. NO WHERE in the insurance form does it state there will be a $100.00 deductable!!! They take your money.....but don't pay.!!!

We rented a 17 ft U-Haul to transport our good from Oregon to Surprise, AZ.  On the day of the rental, we took out insurance because the weather report for the time my husband needed to travel stated he would be driving through very inclement weather.  West coast storms.  When my husband arrived in Surprise, AZ., we had to wait one day to unload the truck due to very stormy weather.  While we were unloading, we discovered an area near the front of the truck where all the boxes in that area were completely water soaked. Aprroximately 5 -6 boxes. two (2) soaked so badly they fell apart. The contents completely destroyed!!!  The other boxes had clothing (which we were able to wash and therefore stop any mold or mildew from forming) and the remaining boxes had art instruction books I had purchased over the years from "North Light Books" as I am an artist.

We did not expect to have water damage in the truck.  It appears to have been a leak.  When we returned the truck we showed the return agency the water damaged boxes and the water damaged items.  Their response was: "we hope you took lots of pictures!!!"  Well, we did, "After the fact "since we did not have a camera with us when we unloaded the truck into the storage facility.

When we first contacted the insurance company "repwest", we were told to have receipts for everything!!   When we received the papers to file the claim, it showed on the last page,  we had to have filed reports from "witnesses" , now, since we were the only 2 people unloading the truck, where would we get "witnesses"???  It also stated that there was a "$100.00" deuctable in the insurance.  NO where on the insurance form we signed and paid $139.00 for does/did it show a $100.00 deductable..  The company takes your money then asks the impssible and then deducts.

Great scam!! Obviously they get away with it all the time!
