On January 24th 2005 I responded to an ad on BuffaloJobFinder.com looking for Inspectors. I was called back from Rescom by a person named Kevin Fisher on January 25th. I spoke at length,(20 or so minutes), with him to determine if A) I wanted to work with this company, B) they wanted me to work with them. It was explained that the training mentioned in their ad was $260.00. This made me wary, therefore I decided not to take Rescom up on their offer immediately.

After thinking about it overnight I called Kevin Fisher back and he assured me that this fee is low for a certification course; it would take about 10-14 days to become certified, then I could start inspecting. He also said I could split the $260.00 into two $130.00 payments. Once I started inspections there would be about a 14-30 day wait for my first check. Therefore about 5 -7 weeks until I'd get paid.

I then went online to take the course. After navigating the Rescom site I ended up on the AABIE, (American Association of Building Inspectors and Environmentalists site. The course was NOT available online, coming soon. I called Kevin Fisher back and was told that the course would be mailed to me, (I've enclosed the photo from the web page of the training materials that would be coming my way). He didn't know why the web-course wasn't up and running yet. When the course arrived it consisted only of three CD's, without binders as pictured, and a form to return authorizing Rescom to debit my card the $130 remaining balance.

I again called Kevin Fisher who informed me that that was just an old photo on the web page and he hadn't seen a course with a binder in years, so why not update the website I asked, he said soon it would be. I was also told at this time by Kevin Fisher that I had to mail in the forms, Employment Application, W-9 Tax form, Independent Contractor agreement, Photo of me for ID, Copy of Drivers license and copy of Social Security Card and the Invoice that came with the 3 CD's. I did so.

Kevin Fisher told me it would take me about 3 days or so to take each test, this would take me about 10-14 days. I took the tests, all three, in two days. They were faxed in on February 2nd and 3rd. I called after a week, February 8th,and was informed by someone named Sara that it would be at least 10 days until she could grade my test. She then told me she didn't even have my tests, so I re-faxed them.

When I called back to tell Kevin Fisher that I was still waiting for my certification and Sara had told me it would be at least 10 more days, he said he would have it for me by next Tuesday (Feb. 15th) I called on the 16th and left a voicemail, no return call. Called again the next day and left another voicemail.

The following week or so, my notes aren't that precise, I called back and was informed that Kevin Fisher was out for personal reasons but that I could speak to Tom Gordon. Tom Gordon informed me he would make sure everything went smoothly from here on in This is when I found out that I would have to wait at least two more weeks for a background check by the FBI, Kevin Fisher had given me the impression that the background check was happening concurrently with my testing.

On March 9th I received an email from Peggy F. of Rescom, asking where my balance of $130.00 was. I told her I had mailed the authorization a few weeks previously, along with above mention documents.

I called my bank on March 16th and was told that a form would be sent to dispute this charge. I tried once more, before this form came, to resolve this dispute with Rescom myself. I called and left messages, each one getting more and more vehement in my need to speak to some one in authority. I finally threatened to go to my credit card company, that's when I finally spoke with a person named Billy Rod on March 23rd, and was told to wait, again, as my training DVD was on its way. He said to review the DVD and then make a decision as to whether or not I wanted to continue with Rescom. I do not wish to continue dealing with a company that does not live up to it's claims, does not return calls (unless threatened with legal action), and doesn't seem to care about it's associates.

Also since entering into this dispute with Rescom they have been charging $15.00 per month to my credit card. I have had to file a seperate dispute claim because of this.
DO NOT trust these people.

In my opinion they are not in the mold investigation business, they are in the selling a junky course for profit. DO NOT believe the fake rebuttals from "happy invetigators".

The course(s) is/are really a joke. The three course are almost identical, just a bunch of reiteration.
Feel free to pick my syntax apart Gordon, like you did with the other person complaining, even though it's not germane to the real issue.

TOM HAS FAILED HIS HANDS-ON TRAINING EXAM!!!!!

AUTHOR: Tom - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, November 17, 2005

Thomas Failed his hands-on training examination. We can only hire intelligent people who pass their hands-on training examination. THis man has failed his hands-on training examination.

To Top this off, he did not even pay for the industry certification courses he signed up for. Our company has now initiated legal action against this individual so that we can recoup the funds we have spent on his background checks, training, etc...He is a deadbeat that failed to honor his part of the training agreement.

Now he is chapped because he can't work with us. Apparently, he has nothing better to do at 6:28 am on a weekday!

Ladies & Gentlemen, this is not a job!!!!it is an OPPORTUNITY! study hard, pass the background checks, pass all exams and you will work for us.
