Restaurant.com Company claims to be selling restaurant gift cards/certificates which turn out to be coupons towards a large minimum purchase. Arlington heights, Illinois

I saw an ad from Restaurant.com on swagbucks.com offering $50 restaurant gift certificates for a discounted price of $20.  It provided a list of participating restaurants, and I found one or two that I was interested in dining at, and thought it sounded like a great deal.  I should have known better. 

After I purchased the Restaurant.com eGift card, I was emailed a code and a link to a website where I could choose the restaurant for which I wanted to obtain the 'gift certificate'.  Well, this time, the restaurant list contained wordings such as '$50 off minimum purchase of $100 - food only, drinks not included'.  These statements were not included on the original 'before-purchase' list of participating restaurants. 

As it turns out, I was sold a coupon, not a gift certficate.  Gift Certificates do not have minimum purchase or food-only requirements, these are COUPONS.  This company is completely deceptive and discloses nothing about the minimum purchase requirements prior to the sale. 

When you complain to the company, they will only offer to exchange your 'gift certficate' for a different restaurant, they will not offer you a refund.
