Resumewritinggroup.com appears to have several websites and lure prospective job seekers in by offering a money back guaranteed resume writing service.  In fact, their website boasts: "We'll get you hired - GUARANTEED or your money back." Unfortunatley, the small hidden print makes it impossible for this to ever occur in this world.  They have hidden the guarantee requirements in their "TERMS OF USE AND PRIVACY POLICY" and because their website states on the front page: "If you use our resume and follow our advice but are not employed in 45 days or less, we'll REFUND payment for your resume AND give you an additional $100!"

Naturally one expects "follow our advice" as information that will be shared one on one when you talk to the person who writes your resume.  This will never happen, they have no phone number, and no email address.  They will never correspond with you or provide any advice except using cut and pasted responses and trying to convince you to use more of their services.  They will send you emails if you fill out an online form, but you cannot respond to these emails as they bounce back.

In the case of my resume, they merely re-wrote the content I currently had and reformatted it adding nothing but some different words.  So the resume writing was actually worthless to me.  I wasn't too concerned as they would be refunding my money if the resume didn't work according to their policy clearly stated on their website.

Here's their "advice" or in this case impossible guidelines to recieve your refund:

1. You must be unemployed at the time of hiring Resumewritinggroup.com and unemployed in 45 days after hiring them. They make this impossible to prove and only accept FAXed submissions as proof and will claim they cannot read the FAX. After you rebut their refusal, they do not care for any further proof and make up new excuses why you don't comply with their offer that states, "We'll get you hired - GUARANTEED or your money back."

2. The offer is only valid if you FAX or send resumes via Certified Mail and provide reciepts as proof.  This is impossible as no companies today accept FAXes or mailed resumes as most every company uses digital HR software and Monster, Careerbuilder, Indeed, Linkedin, etc. offer no way to mail or send FAXes.  Furthermore, if one were to send Certified Mail, the cost would be hundreds of dollars.  So, no email submissions count for their guarantee or no submissions on any online sites count.  This is their "advice."

I tried to provide them with proof of resume submissions which were screen shots of my accounts on several job boards with the date, position, location and my screen picture/name on each screen shot and they denied these saying:

"Thank you for your fax however as noted in our terms of guarantee you need to submit 40 CERTIFIED MAIL and/or FAX RECEIPTs along with proof of unemployment - this blurred list, which we cannot clearly read,  is not compliant with terms of guarantee; if this list is from using jobsbyfax, our terms do also state their service counts as only 1 submission.  We will need 40 actual CERTIFIED MAIL and or FAX RECEIPTS, as well as proof of unemployment.

Our terms of sale and guarantee have been clearly posted since our inception w/out any change nor any addition. Additionally, at the time of each sale the link is right next to where you agreed to terms when placing the order and is also on our home page:"

I responded saying nobody accepts FAX or Certified mail and my FAX was sent in high resolution.  Their response:

"Thank you for your notes; the fax you sent that was "blurry" did not demand asking for clear copy as it was obviously not 40 copies of certified mail receipts or fax receipts nor did it contain proof of unemployment, which we assumed was not submitted since your file indicates you were indeed employed when you purchased our service and as per terms, one of which is that the client must be unemployed, you could not fulfill that term of the guarantee.

We are sorry if you did not read the terms to which you stated you agreed when ordering.

So, now they say I was employed when I hired them for my resume writing services.  Ok, I respond saying I was not employed and I have proof as the company they are claiming I work for has been shut down for many months and I can easily provide proof (which I give 4 simple ways to confirm).  They will not accept this proof and I have no way to send or talk to anyone on the phone.

Here is their repsonse:

"We have tried to assist by clarifying the terms; this is not an issue of a "technicality" or "blurred fax" - nor are we clear on how this "high resolution" document list  is considered  fax receipts (attached).- what you submitted was a printout list that when magnified shows a list that could have been generated anywhere - it gives no verifiable proof of submission and receipt and is not copies of fax receipts. Contrary to your comment, companys do accept faxes - nor are applicants restrained from faxing or certified mailing their resumes to companies to get more personal, direct attention to their resume, as recommended both in the video and printout links you were provided in the guarantee terms.   What we state in our terms:

YOU MUST PROVIDE REASONABLE PROOF THAT YOU

SUBMITTED YOUR RESUME TO AT LEAST 40 PROSPECTIVE EMPLOYERS (IN

THE FORM OF CERTIFIED MAIL RECEIPTS OR VERIFIABLE FAX

TRANSMISSION RECEIPTS

:Had you submitted the correct proofs of submissions along with unemployment, your refund would have been on the way."

So, in conclusion they think that they are in the correct moral position to use deceptive business practices and false advertising and multiple corporate names to lure in job seekers.  If I can help one person not be mislead by this organization that has multple complaints here on the Ripoff Report, this was worth my $200.
