Sales Flyer Says "Free All-in-one-printer with purchase of any digital camera". Photo on Flyer shows a printer that looks exactly like the Epson Stylus NX300 with the lid slightly opened showing a photo on the copy tray. When you go to the website and click on Weekly Sale Ad, there is a link to purchase the all in one printer (it's free after the mail in rebate). When you click on the link, the actual printer that comes up is the Epson Stylus Photo R280 Printer, which only prints photos and is NOT an "all-in-one" printer as advertised. Customer service says the R280 printer is the only printer they carry? The picture for hte R280 shows clearly that it is a completely different printer and not an "all-in-one" as advertised. I'm sure the R280 is also not the only printer they carry. False advertising.

Yes, it's an all in one.

10 seconds of research brings up the printer listed on multiple websites as a "All In One" printer as described by epson. It's all in one abilities are printing on multiple surfaces (paper and Cd's) with special support for border-less prints of varying sizes.

In case that was too complicated.

Its a document printer.
It's a photo printer.
It's a cd printer.
It's a dvd printer.
It's a borderless printer.

"All in one."
Just because there's no scanner does not mean it's not an all in one.
Basically, Not a ripoff. It's exactly what its supposed to be. And apparently, from what the clearance sites suggest, discontinued and worth a whole whopping 14.99 too... wow, what a freebie.

Looked at the website...

AUTHOR: Edgeman - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, December 24, 2008

I went and looked at the Ritz website and clicked on 'weekly sale ad'. There is indeed a free 'all-in-one' printer offer. When I clicked on that special, I was taken to a web page that said that all digital cameras purchased by December 24th come with a free 'all-in-one' Epson printer and a personalized photo book. There were photos of both the printer and the book. Underneath the photo of the book was a line that described a EPSON STYLUS R280 8X10 PHOTO PRINTER and a button to add that printer to the online shopping cart.

The R280 printer can print photos, text documents and print graphics or text on cds and dvds.

As near as I can tell, Ritz Camera sent her the printer model described on the web page that she cites on her report. It seems to me that they met their end of the deal.

However, there is still the question of whether or not the Epson R280 is actually an 'all-in-one' printer. It certainly doesn't meet my definition of one but as far as I know, there is no legal or standard definition of what an 'all-in-one' printer must contain. A gray area at best.
