River City Real Estate Deceitful, ripoff vile and dishonest abused & mistreated Richmond Virginia

River City Real Estate has caused me many problems over the past few months, but my latest problem is by far the worst:

I signed a twelve month lease in August of 2002. The terms of the lease were that the tenant must give ninety days notice that they would not renew the lease, or it would automatically renew itself. I had decided months ago that I would move out at the end of the lease.

I prepared a letter to be sent to them before the end of May, declaring my intent to leave when the current lease was up. My letter also included a list of several problems that I had with them and desired to have corrected as well as the fact that I would be leaving. I mailed the letter via the U.S. Postal Service.

A few weeks later I realize that they have yet to respond, so I send an e-mail asking for a confirmation regarding my intent to not renew the lease. What I get in response is a letter stating that my lease has already been renewed although there is still two months before my first lease expires. I am given the option of finding a new tenant or breaking the lease.

I have NEVER had anything get lost in the mail and yet these people have the audacity to lie about the receipt of my notice. I believe that they are doing this to me out of spite, because of my very serious complaints about them. I now have to ponder paying money for a lawyer to fix my unfair situation.

I am writing this report because I do not want anyone to have to deal with what I am going through in the future.
