RJ Performance Jonathan Campbell, wrong engine then lost engine then cancelled check then bounced check Calgary, Alberta Canada

I found RJ Performance on the web. I called Jonathan Campbell. He said he would sell me a brand new marine long block with a 2 year Cummins Warranty. So I contracted to buy it from him. He faxed me a contract and had FedX pick up check at my office on around June 8, 2010. He said the long block was in Sacramento and would be delivered in 4-5 days. It was, but what I got was a truck engine. He said that two of his shipments got switched and hed send me the right motor. It never showed up. He said it was lost in shipping and it would take him 6-8 weeks to get another.

He agreed to send me a refund check, and he did. He put a stop pay on that check saying he wanted the wrong engine back first. We agreed that I would ship the wrong engine COD to him. I did. I eventually got my check on 8/20 and deposited it into my bank. On Sept. 13 my called to say the check was no good as it was drawn on a closed account. I called Jonathan. He said he switched banks and would send a replacement check by Purolator and gave me a check number and a Purolator tracking number. He said he would get the check to Purolator on 9/15, then 9/16, then 9/17. Purolator still has no record of that tracking number here on 9/23.

I called the Calgary Police. They said I had to start with the FL State Attorneys Office. I got the bad check kit and a check written prior to 90 days of filing is not acceptable. I looked at the check I received on 8/20/10 was dated 6/3/10. So by now it is over 90 days old. He knows that, Im afraid.

I called Canadas Consumer Protection Dept. They said that because I am a company, it is a civil matter and referred me to a law firm referral service.When things started to go bad, I called the Better Business Bureau in Canada. They have a long list of complaints on Jonathan for similar reasons.
