One Spirit Book Club ripoff sold our account to collection agency four years after trying to charge me for books I never ordered. National

More than four years ago I signed up for this book club's initial offer to receive five books for just the price of shipping. Thought it was a good deal because their catalog showed a lot of merchandise of interest to me. Well, books took forever to arrive and two were not even the ones I'd asked for,and the shipping charge was outrageous. I disputed the shipping charge but paid it anyway.

Shortly after I signed up illness in the family forced us to cut back on expenses so I called them up within 30 days and asked to cancel my account. the woman was very nice to me on the phone and I thought this was over. Then six months later I received a collection notice for more than $200 for "books I signed up and agreed to order but had never ordered.!!!!" I wrote the collection agency and One Spirit and said there was no way in hell I was paying these people for orders I never placed. The issue seemed to be taken care of.

Two weeks ago I get what looks like a bill in the mail from NCO which is actually a collection agency in Pa. Open it and lo and behold, One Spirit has SOLD this account to NCO and four years later they are trying to collect for those famous "books I signed up and agreed to order."

Needless to say a nasty gram and cease communication letter has gone out both to NCO and One Spirit. I closed this account within the time period when you were supposed to be able to close it, and this company is trying to charge me for things I might have ordered from them in the future???? Huge scam. Avoid them. Just the fact they deal with NCO which is famous on internet complaint boards for bloodsucker collecting methods shows me what this book club is about.
