I bought a 1971 camaro from RK Motors.  Before the deal was finalized, I asked if the car had any paint defects.  Mr Frank Carroll, VP Sales replied no dings, dents or blemishes. Before the vehicle was shipped, Mr Carroll told us it was company policy to have their technicians put the vehicle thru a complete safety & drivability test.   When vehicle arrived, I noticed that the paint had various defects & the car was not drivable.

After a month of back & forth emails & phone conversations, they now want me to pay an additional $3,900  to repair the mechanical problems  and extra to repair the paint.

RK Motors has been trying to resolve this...

The vehicle in question was sold "As Is" and Mr. Martinez was made aware that the car had no scratches, dings, or nicks, but that there was some clear coat fade on the car. Mr. Martinez was also made aware that while the car did have a comprehensive restoration approx. 6 years ago, the car had been driven and was showing some slight signs of wear.

To make it known, the car in question is a 1971 Cheverlet Camaro with custom paint and a heavily documented build history. As this car was advertised, "Built for the 2005 Super Chevy Road Tour as a partnership between Super Chevy magazine and Goodmark, every stage of this project was extensively documented in detailed series of magazine write ups." He knew very well he was buying a car that had been driven and used and this was discussed and acknowledged by him.

Every car sold at RK Motors goes through a final delivery inspection and a video is made of each car, called an "Exit Video". In the video the car is started and run at idle and acceleration, all lights and signals are checked, horn is checked, power equipment, like windows are checked, audio system checked, VIN is verified and documented, interior lighting and gauges are checked along with many other aspects of the vehicle like air conditioning (if applicable). The video is made available to each and every client before the car is delivered to them.

RK Motors has been working with Mr. Martinez to resolve this situation and the compnay was taken aback by his recent online postings and remarks about the company and it's employees. We are surprised by his recent actions during this period, but we are doing all that we can to rectify this unfortunate situation.

You purchased a 43-year-old vehicle sight unseen and without a test-drive. Then you were surprised it has mechanical problems and needs to be painted. How recently did you arrive from Pluto?
