Road Runner Sports Fraudulent charge San Diego, California

I purchased running shoes from Road Runner Sports in 2010 with a VIP membership. The VIP membership was coming up for renewal and I was concerned that they had set me up with automatic renewal, even though I never requested it. I called 3 weeks before the renewal date to make sure I didn't have automatic renewal and to cancel it. I was informed that I was set up for automatic renewal at the end of August so I told the woman I wanted to cancel it and I would not be renewing my VIP membership. She assured me that it was canceled and that I would not be charged. Luckily I check my credit cards online frequently and saw that they did in fact charge me yesterday. I will be calling them to reverse the charge immediately and dispute the charge with my credit card company. I have used National Running Center off and on for years and they have never charged me after I canceled with them. Stay away from Road Runner Sports or use a one time credit card number.
