On February 2, 2007 there was a loud knock on my apartment door. It was around 2am in the morning hence I did not open the door in fear of being attacked. Turns out that my upstairs neighbor was trying to tell me that my car was being towed.

It was only on my way to work that I found that my car was gone. I contacted Missouri City police department. The department send Officer Cook, who informed me after a series of question, that my car was towed. I could not believe it because it was parked in a parking zone area.

Upon calling Ronda Lane Auto Storage I spoke to Claudio, who I promptly informed that my car was towed illegally and as such it should be returned. Claudio indicated that he would. Little did I know, he was being sacrastic.

After the car was not returned, I called back the company and spoke to Claudio and in a nasty tone he informed me that I was parked in two car spaces and as such the Springfield Apartments authorized the towing. I asked for the towing company location and necessary inform to reclaim my car.

Then I promptly telephoned the Missouri City department to ask about my rights, but was informed by officer Hernandez that Claudio called them to say that I was harassing him. How is this harassment when only two phone calls were made and basicly to find out why the car was towed and where it was being stored?

That morning, I contacted the manager of the complex and informed her that I was not illegally or improperly parked. I was informed that there was nothing to be done, I will have to pay to get my car out of storage. The storage amount, $232.89 I found out later was $50.00 or more higher than usual.

The next morning I spoke to the manager at length about the illegal towing and she indicated that the towing of improperly parked car is disclosed in the lease. I then informed her that I was not improperly parked since I was parked between two other cars.

I asked to see the picture of my improper parking only to find that the back wheel of my car was parked over the yellow parking line of the parking spacing that my car occupied. I was never parked in two parking areas.

Also, there are no posted signs in the apartment complex indicating that cars will be towed for improper parking. In addition, I imformed the manager, Monique at the time of parking my car, that I parked between two cars and since there was not enough lighting there was no way to see the yellow line since I parked the car after dark.

I have requested my money back from both Ronda Lane Auto Storage and Springfield Apartment and have yet to receive a refund.
