I ordered a living room set from the RoomStore off of Midlothian Turnpike on February 20th. It had to be special ordered and the salesman, in his sleek southern accent, told me it could take 8-10 weeks to come in. But then he added under his breath that special orders often come in closer to 5 weeks. Well it's now been 13 weeks and still no furniture. And every time I call I get a different excuse for why it hasn't come in yet. The factory is only one state away--how hard can it be to ship it to me?!! I could have built my own darn furniture in the time it's taken them to make it! At this point I am seriously considering cancelling the sale and getting my $2000 back. They don't deserve my money.

DON'T SPECIAL ORDER ANYTHING FROM THE ROOMSTORE UNLESS YOU ARE PREPARED TO WAIT MANY MONTHS FOR IT TO ARRIVE!!!

RoomStore special order hassle, I cancelled the order

In reference to Terri's rebuttal, I was NOT told to expect to wait 8-12 weeks, I was verbally told "up to 10 weeks, but likely closer to 5 weeks" and my invoice clearly reads "8 to 10 weeks." After my phone call to the Regional Manager was not returned (very rude) I filed a complaint with the BBB and shortly thereafter decided to just cancel the sale. That was another hassle, involving two or three long-distance phone calls to find out when my money would be credited back to my VISA account (that ended up taking close to a week).

We do inform our customers of an 8-12 week lead time on special orders. The manufacturer does not stock this item and it is custom made for the consumer using the fabric they have selected. We do regret your order is taking longer than the time specified.
