The fun never stops with this dealership.
This dealership gives to it hurt you. Upon Purchasing my vehicle part of the agreement was for them to pay off My 2003 Honda accord As A trade in. HSBC bank has informed me that they never receive any payment from Route 22 Nissan, INC. 30 day has gone by, I get call ever day from the ask me for a payment on a car in have trade in. I inform the back I trade the car to the dealership and I can not afford to make two payments. So I call the dealership on 10/4/06 and spoke to Daren about the problem. They fax me a copy of the check they sent to the bank. I told hem the bank will not stop call until they received the money. He replays what do you won't me to do? I sad I need you help with this problem. So Daren told he would call me back he going to see when the check clear. I have not heard from hem.

This is an Illegal Scam!

Tashaud, you're telling a familiar story that has happened in other parts of the country.
here is the scam: A dealership will take a car in trade that has an outstanding loan against it with the promise to pay off the existing loan. It never happens but the dealer will sell the car to another unsuspecting victim. Since there is a lein against the car, the new victim can not get registration (title) or a tag for the car. The original owner is still responsible to the lending bank for the loan against the car.
This happened with a Toyota dealership here in Atlanta about 15 years ago. There were customers who were being dunned by their banks for payments on cars they had traded in and there were people who had bought the cars but could not get title or tags for their cars. The dealership had simply kept the money. But, someone got smart and the dealer was arrested and I think was sent to prison for auto theft.
Here's what you need to do: Contact the county attorney where the dealership is located and explain the situation. I suspect the owner of the dealership will be quickly arrested and put in jail. I also suspect they will want to make everything right as quickly as possible in an attempt to ameloriate the damage before they go to trial and look as good as possible before the judge. But, it is also possible that the money is gone forever and they will not be able to pay off the loans to get the leins released.
