My Fiance (now my husband) and I went to a bridal Expo, next thing we know, someone calls and says we have won a cruise and a 3 day all inclusive vacation but will have to go pick up our prizes from a Hotel, in this case Comfort Suites in the RTP area, North Carolina. We find a cookware/china demo and the guy is all sugar and spice belittling all other cookwares except his which is made from materials he stops short of saying come from heaven. We fall for the story and sign up to buy cookware and get promised 48 pcs free china as an incentive. The price is $2300.

We walk out happy that we got a good deal, of course we have no clue about the hidden charges. My husband wakes up one day a week later and decides to check these pots out on the internet, what he sees blows his mind, a million complains from people who've been conned, he reads one horror story after another. People whose credit reports have been ruined even when they make their payments, rude customer service reps, threats and the list goes on. We panic.

We talk about it some more and decide to try and cancel the order, remember, the contract they make you sign says you can only cancel after 3 days. He goes through to someone who identifies himself as the head of sales. Our deposit of $219 has already been processed and they won't refund even if we have not received the products. This guys agrees to cancel but our deposit is gone.

My question is how can this go on endlessly and how can they be stopped?
