I feel for the contractors that are currently working for Safeguard. If you have worked for them, you know what I mean. If you still work for them you will learn what I mean.

It is sad to say all these banks and mortgage companies out there that has contracts with them has no idea about what is actually going on.

Safeguard has came a long ways. At one point in time Safeguard was a good company to work for. But as the years past by it got worse day by day. Now they don't care about anything but making money. And if they have to take advantage of their contractors to do so thats what will happen. Thats what happened to me. I am a hard working single mom. I worked for Safeguard for 8 yrs. I did not let them drag me down. If I didn't quit when I did they would have.

They owe me money to this day. I know I will never see it. I believe in what comes around goes around. When the bottom falls out of their business. Which it will, they will be lined up at the unemployment line. I would love to be there to see that day.

So for everyone out there thinking of working for them just watch out. They will get you too.

For the Banks and Mortgage companies out there looking for someone to manage your properties. Choose someone else.

Banks need to double check results from safeguard

AUTHOR: AZinspector - (United States of America)

POSTED: Saturday, October 16, 2010

I agree, the banks that give work to Safeguard need to know that they hired a ton of inspectors at half the rate of regular inspectors to cover the high forclosures states. These inspectors that are getting tons of work for half the rate have no idea they are replacing other inspectors that were getting $6 per house. The new $3 inspectors see a high volume of work and do inferior work to make enough money to pay the expenses and make good money. You obviously do not live in one of the 5 highest forclosure states, i had a great job until safeguard instituted these new half pay inspectors. the cut my work from 150/200 houses to 25 houses a day. had to let my subs go and can barely make any money because i will not give up my integrity and pride in my work to hustle for $3 and do shoddy work. The banks need to reconsider who does these inspections, they will get what they pay for. Vacant houses are going 3-5 months marked as occupied(1 picture) until they take the time to mark the vacant(5pictures). One huge, very huge bank has already left safeguard for another inspection company. Beware banks that contract with safeguard, double check the results you receive from them, have some kind of back up inspections performed to be sure you are getting what you pay for.

File a Complaint

AUTHOR: Charlie123 - (United States of America)

POSTED: Wednesday, May 26, 2010

I would strongly urge all contractors with an issue against Safeguard to file a BBB complaint.  BBB will research the issue and contact the company.  It could be a legitimate oversight or error on Safeguard's part.  If it is an illegal practice or a process that Safeguard should be made aware of, the best way to resolve and communicate this is a BBB complaint.  If you look at Safeguard's record, there have been complaints, but the majority of the cases were resolved or the complaining party had no proof of their issue.  the BBB is a great resource for small contractors: your complaint will be heard and read by thousands and if u can prove a legitamate gripe, u will be paid.

#1 UPDATE Employee

Current Safeguard Contractor Here

AUTHOR: BillMcCartney - (United States of America)

POSTED: Tuesday, May 25, 2010

I am currently a Safeguard contractor and have been for a little over a year now. Before we signed on with them I read all of these very negative reviews and almost backed out of the deal but my wife urged me to take a chance which turned out to be the best decision of my life.

We had a very profitable painting and remodeling company but wanted to expand and Safeguard was a calculated risk for us. In a little over a year we've gone from 2 employees and me working 12+ hours a day to an operation with over 20 employees and subs where I'm able to work from home every day and spend time with my growing family. We have ceased all residential and commercial work besides Safeguard and everyone in our network makes good money from me to our subs and employees. I just bought a Mercedes, my wife bought a Durango, and 2 of our subs have just doubled their equipment and workforce. Most of my subs gross around $2000 per week and this is quality, steady work.

I'm not saying Safeguard is flawless by any means. Vendor Web is terrible and we have 2 dedicated computers that only do Safeguard updates and nothing else because the settings have to be so specific to work correctly. The learning curve is steep and they have demanding requirements and timelines, but if you run a tight ship it is very possible to be successful. It takes a lot of commitment and a lot of capital which is where I think most people fall short. My wife and I spent over $20k out of our pocket paying our subs and employees before steady checks started coming in.

IF you have a good work ethic, reliable help, and only take on as much work as you can reasonably handle I believe Safeguard is an amazing vehicle for success. I know for my family and all of those working for me, this is a life changing opportunity.
