We received a chain letter from this organization containing a Prayer Rug with instructions and a request to forward it on.   It also included some other religious information which we did not bother to take the time to read.  I was under the belief that chain mail was illegal in the USA.  How did this get through the US Postal Service?

How would they know?

The Postal Service does not open your mail so how would they know there was a chain letter in it?

You're right though,  it is a seriously fraudulent outfit.  Whatever you do, please do not send them any money.

Probably has to do with the fake "Church" that they claim, they're a scum sucking orginazation at best.
Just either throw it away, or do as I did and send them a photocopy $5(Printed on one side, Like their "Prayer cloth") that'll get them out of your Mail, they Live for profit. NOT GOD.
