Salie Mae, SML, Salie Mae Servicing Corporation is a rip-off! Extortion! Denial! Discrimination! Wilkesbarre Pennsylvania

I am one among many in the US who has made the horrible mistake of taking advantage of the federally funded Spousal Consolidation program with Salie Mae. I have found that divorce is a loophole that, in my opinion, allows SML to unfairly discriminate against one payer in the loan. In my case I am not the primary borrower and despite the fact that I can count on my hands how many payments the primary borrower has made since 1997 and I have proven to be the only reliable payer, I have repeatedly been denied rights which I believer are mine as a borrower.

Dispite 10 years of attempting to convince them of the need to separately send statements to both borrowers I am still unable to set up an online account in addition* to my former spouses. I am also unable to have equal access to statements and am forced to use confidential information that does not belong to me to gain access by phone. I am expected to be equally responsible with the payments, but am unfairly discriminated against because I am the co-borrower.

It is my contention that if I choose as the primary payer to assume the entirety of this debt, I should have the right to do so (especially in the complete or nearly complete absence of contribution from the other borrower of the loan). Again, even this option (which unfairly leaves me with debt that I did not incur alone) has been denied to me.

In my opinion this is rip-off!
