Somehow my husband signed up for this when he bought from JC Penny, though he has no recollection of doing so. I just received my first correspondance on Feb 13, 2014 saying our home deductible benefit has changed in our membership. I called to find out what this was about and was told my husband signed up for this program in December when he bought something from JC Penny.

He had a free trial period but it had expired.  I have been trying to log onto the website for two weeks and have been told the site is under maintanance. I keep calling for help but they just say to be patient. I called today disgusted that I still can't get on and the rep finally looked into it deeper and said it is something with my account and he will escallate it. I told him I'd previously requested escallation, but when he checked the records, he found only a call last week asking for the new member benefits package to be mailed.

I asked if I'd been charged in March since the last guy said they wouldn't while this got sorted out. He said that was true. Then I asked when the free trial had ended and how long I'd been paying and discovered my husband had signed up in December...of 2009!!! (OH MY--I thought is was this past December!)

Our credit card was being charged for four years and we didn't know it? (Shame on us!) But the fact remains, this is the first corresponance from them. Not once has anyone called to see why we are not using our benefits. Not once have we even logged onto the website. (I'm even wondering how our credit card hasn't expired in all that time...but I will check with AMEX next.)

When I googled "Savings Solutions", over and over all over the web, people keep saying they or their parents have signed up for this without knowledge and have been paying and not knowing it. I can't help but wonder if JC PEnny/Savings Solutions signs people up without explaining that they will be charged for this forever and they won't actually even know they have joined. Or if they even say anything.  They have the credit card number b/c it is after a purchase from JC Penny on the phone that this enrollment happens.

Yes, we should have checked the billing--but with so many autobills, it obviously got overlooked. Bad on me. Worse on them for doing this to unsuspecting consumers!

If we never logged onto the website in 4 years, never used any benefits, and never contacted them--there was a good chance we never even knew they were charging us. I want a refund and I want this predatory practice to stop.

When they wrote the above quote in response to my Ripoff Report posting and asked me to contact them, I did the very same day. But here it is a week later and I have not heard a peep  back. Surprised? no. Disappointed? yes.
