I transferred my gas provider to SCANA in April 2013 for a twelve month enrollment.  In October 2013 I transferred back to the previous company because of a much better rate per therm.  I am not surprised by the early termination fee.  The company I am with now charges $100 if you leave in the first six months and $50 if you leave in the last six months.  SCANA charges $150 period!  That's RIDICULOUS!   I do not recommend SCANA and will warn everyone NOT to ever sign up with them.

I am not angry that there is an early termination fee.  I am angry that it is $150!  That is exhorbitant!  Cellular service is the only other company I know that has such horrible eary termination fees.

Early Termination Fees

AUTHOR: Sandra - ()

POSTED: Tuesday, November 19, 2013

All marketers charge an early termination fee and have different terms and conditions for how much they charge; some marketers may charge up to $300 depending on the rate plan you select.  The terms you are describing sounds like a prorated charge if you decide to lower your rate plan with them and not for switching to another marketer.

Since this report provides limited information, I would be unable to view your specific account.  I will advise that when we begin mailing information to renew rate plans, we encourage the customer to contact us so we can review all rate plan options available;  even offers received from other marketers.  We value our customers and sorry we were unable to keep you as our customer.  If you have any questions or would like to review, please call customer service at 1-877-467-2262.  Our customer support center is available for you Monday - Friday 7am - 10pm and Saturday 8am -  7pm.

You DID sign a contract with them and then by your own admissions, broke that contract. How can you be mad unless you just didnt read the contract. Im betting you did not read it and when you get hit with a ETF youre mad. Well this is ALL ON YOU!!! YOU made the choice to switch to a different provider BEFORE the terms of the contract were up. YOU DID THIS!! Not them.

This is a fake post by someone who is trying to make another party responsable for the descions THEY made. Its not a ripoff nor is it a scam. If you blindly sign your name to a contract WITHOUT reading it, then you have no one to blame BUT yourself for the descions YOU made.

Yet another stupid self entitled idjit who thinks the rules of the world DO NOT apply to them. Well they do. They apply to EVERYONE equally. Thats what freedom is about. Choices.
