I recall almost a year ago searching the web for a car loan.  I somehow was directed to score sense.  They charged a $1. and I didnt' realize that I was agreeing to a monthly fee $39.95.  This was not obvious and easy to miss.   I went back to the site and found that anyone paying the $1 would miss this.

I saw the charge on my checking account last week and when I called to find out about the charge found out that they had bill 11 months at $39.95.

I asked them to cancel and give me a full refund. He would not even provide me with the name of the person that could assist me.

Amazing

It is amazing how you "missed" that you were signing up for this charge and figure that they are to blame.

So who do you blame for the last 11 months?  After all this charge would have shown up on your statements that as a responsible account holder review on a monthly basis.

Let me guess the bank is in on this scam to and "hid" the charge from you so you would totally miss it..right? Perhaps you are going to go with the "Well the charge just wasn't big enough to really notice".  Perhaps you will go with the ever popular "Oh I just didn't have time".

As for the refund, if you get anything more than 2 months consider yourself lucky. As even per Federal Regulation only gives you 60 days to dispute a transaction, after that time it is considered valid and you are responsible for it.
