On September 4, 2016 my washer stopped working. I looked online at all of the popular stores that sell appliances - Sears, Home Depot, Lowes, BestBuy.  I researched the washers (online reviews, consumer reports, etc) and decided on a large capacity whirlpool washer.  Since we have a lot of laundry (2 loads a day) and I would need to use the laundromat until the washer was delivered, time was of the essence.  All of the sites indicated a delivery date between September 11 and September 13 as the earliest possible date.  I called the Sears store appliance department in my area and asked the associate to verify the date.  She said the internet dates were correct, and that the store associates rely on those dates and have no other information.  Sears could deliver on September 13 and I decided to wait the couple extra days, as S'ears had been extremely reliable in the past.  Big mistake.  I received emails and texts periodically from Sept 4 to Sept 12 assuring me the washer would be delivered.

On Sept 12, I received a call, text and email telling me that the washer would be delivered on Sept 13 between 12:45 and 2:45.  This was at 7:20 pm.  At 7:23 pm, I received a call from a foreign call center (sounded like China) and was told by a woman with broken English that the washer would not be delivered until Sept 20.  I told her that was not acceptable.  She just kept repeating the date.  The next day I called Sears headquarters, the Sears store and 2 800 numbers for 3 hours before speaking to a person on American soil regarding the issue.  I was told that the Sears company knew that the washer would not be available until Sept 20 on Sept 13.  Actually when I clicked on the same washer on Sept 13, the delivery was promised on Sept 17!  I was told that was not correct, the washers would not be at the Sears warehouse until Sept 19.  The American person gave me an 800 number and said that I would definitely receive a discount for the inconvenience.  I called that number (another Chinese call center) and was told there would not be a discount as the delay was 'beyond Sears control'. I was also told that a refund would take 10 days -   Sears charged my bank card on Sept 4, and had my money.  I had no choice but to reschedule the delivery.  Since Sears would not give me a delivery time, I had to schedule for Sept 21 (I had an appt on Sept 20).  Today (Sept 18 2016) I am receiving emails and texts that the washer will be delivered Sept 21.  I have no confidence in that.  I also have no confidence that I would get a refund if I cancelled.  I will never shop at Sears again.  I have written to the CEO, called the store, and submitted several complaints on their website - No response. None.
