I purchased their supposed "top of the line" spy pen and their dash cam best resolution dash cam.  I  received them fairly quick although they did overcharge me for shipping, most competitors offer free shipping this company charges twice if not three times the actual amount, but I went ahead and bought these products anyway believing their lies on their website.

When I received them it looked like a 12y child had put together the instructions, I mean really you are going to charge such large amounts of money and give such unprofessional crappy instructions? So after messing around with the product I decided to give them a call to get a little more help, I was SHOCKED on how rude they were, they would not listen to what I was asking and told me to speak faster because they have "thousands of other customers waiting"  as soon as he said that I said if that was the case wouldn't you hire more people to answer the phones or at least give better instructions.  He went on a rant how he has who knows how many years of experience and customers blah blah, that's all his website states how many years he has been in business and customers but when you actually digg deeper you will find reports all over the net pretty much stating the same thing of how rude and cocky this person is. Just goolge "secruitysystem.com" or "securitysystems.com reviews" So after worthless banter from them it comes to discover one of the units was defective, so much for his .001 defect rate!  I decided I did not want to deal with him not his products any more and ship everything back he accused me of breaking it and hung up the phone!  I had to file a claim with PayPal to get my money back from securitysystems.com

Basically this guy bill and his wife Janice or whatever they are straight up con artists, all the crap they say in their website are all lies, the video quality on the pen was sub par at best and the dash cam saying highest resolution in the world?  Like really since when 1280x760 is the highest resolution for a camera, I have a little cannon that records in 1920x1080 to what I remember from 3rd grade math 1920x1080 is better then 1280x760 and guess what plenty of their competitors sell dash cams that are 1920x1800.  Also all those unsolicited reviews he has on his website he pays $40 bucks a pop for.  For $40 dollars I would also call a 800 number and say my piece of crap works like a charm if I actually kept them.

So from what I can see this is a company selling products that are normally sold for 40 - 60 dollars marks them up 5 times then tells you their are different because they are more expensive!  This guy is laughing all the way to the bank. Well you lost my business guy and anybody I know. If you are reading this check out this company name by goggling it you will see what kind of a businessman this guy really is.

#2 Consumer Suggestion

Believability

AUTHOR: Phil - ()

POSTED: Monday, December 30, 2013

I have read your complaint.  I have know about this seller for quite awhile.  While I admit that the seller makes some pretty astounding claims (I purposely avoided buying from this seller) you seem to have known what you were getting into.  It sounds like to me a case of buyers remorse and not of an actual ripoff.  You admit that you knew the resolutions were low when you made the purchase and yet instead of just buying one item and testng  the company you bought two (no doubt to save on shipping - being cheap eh)  you knew what the shipping cost was too.

Although, I think the seller's products don't reach the hype he claims I do think that he was dealing with a real "pain" for a customer.  I am in retail and reading your comments I instantly associate you with the very few (thank goodness) unreasonable customers I deal with on occassion.  That is why the business I am associated with doesn't use Paypal, because the payers are often untruthful (ripoffreport is full of complaints about paypal).  I think you called the owner with an attitude.  Like many customers with an attitude they haven't done their homework and have no idea of the terms/words used in a manual and won't do any research to see what they are getting into.  You then made the owner mad because you had all the answers and so he said a few things that probably were true about you and then like a real pain you ran to ripoff after you ripped off the owner using paypal for payment.

Like I said I don't know anyone that works for or is involved with that website.  I wouldn't buy anything there either, but I do my research.  Please do yours.

Just received a Dash Cam from SecuritySystem

First let me state that I have no fiduciary interests whatsoever with SecuritySystem.  I am just a consumer who read the complaints just after I made an on-line purchase.  My dashcam came quickly, within 2 days of being ordered which I thought was outstanding.  My email communications with the company were clear and crisp and very professional.  The instructions that I received along with a one page "quick helps" guide to walk me through the menu settings was straightfrward and helpful.

I plugged the unit into the car's power, inserted the microSD card, formatted it as required and it worked without incident.  The recodring seems to be clear and working as advertised.  I am not sure what happened with other people's dashcaams but this one worked out of the box and I am pleased with it.  I had a problem with a cheap dashcam (would interfere with my XM radio reception) but that problem is also now non-existant.
