I bought the top of line Select Comfort bed at the time, model 9000 I think and paid $3500. Within 18 months the bed looked like two canoes. The foam and pillow top compressed in record time to my wife's sleep location and mine. The compression was so bad that I was able to take pictures with a digital camera and a straightedge laid across showing an average of a two inch dip. I got the pictures to the local store and the manager and sales person were shocked when they saw the pictures and agreed the bed was in terrible shape and should be handled under warranty. Since I told them my calls to the Select Comfort company yielded no help, except that the company wanted me to buy new foam and a new pillow top, he store people said they would help. Long story short, I got blown off by the company with no replies, no return calls and a basic get lost attitude. I should also state my wife and I both are thin people. I weigh 175 and she weighs 134, certainly not enough weight to wear the bed out prematurely. Even though new foam and a pillow top would bring the bed back to good condition, since the tv advertising says the bed will last and look new for 25 years which is false along with no company support, I refuse to spend another dime with them. To further frustrate me is that the Select Comfort factory is ten miles from my home.
WHAT'S NEEDED TO TEACH THIS COMPANY IS A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT. ANYONE INTERESTED?

This is not in innerspring mattress created to break down at some point. Try This.

I am an employee of Select Comfort and my opinions do not reflect the company.

What happens when you raise your sleep number to 100? This is not in innerspring mattress created to break down at some point. Sagging does not occur with the Sleep Number bed. I have had 2 for 3 years and when they are at 100 it is flat.

Try this.

Troubleshooting

*Disclaimer*
I am an employee of Select Comfort, however the views expressed are mine and mine alone and do not represent Select Comfort as a Company.

You didn't mention it in your report, but did you pump the bed up to 100 on each side? Secondly, which foam was topside? I know that the company has reworked the pillow tops to be more resilient. I would first verify that you pumped each side to 100, verify which type of foam was topside. Then call customer service at 1-800-472-7185 and ask if they have any recommendations (i.e. vacuuming the foam). Customer service takes notes of your call and can forward the info to your nearest store. However because of the nature of foam, some pillow tops do wear, others may not, even in the same model. There is a 20year Prorated warranty on all the parts, however I'm not 100% sure on pillow top. I have a model 7000 and I am not a light person (200lbs), and I sleep at a 40. I have seen no wear on my bed, but that's not to say it can't happen. Hopefully this helped a little.

Regards

The only problem with Select Comfort is that their beds are rediculoulsy over priced. And for as much as people have to pay for one of their beds, they should be guaranteed against everything for years. Other than that they are very good beds. Just start making noise at the Corporate level. You should get what you want just to get you to shut up and go away.

Your "class action" is without merit in my opinion. That would mean that there are hordes of people who have been screwed by Select Comfort and are willing to go class action against them. I don't think this is the case. Besides, the only ones who win in class action suits are the attorneys. You might get an in store credit of $100.00 while the attorneys run to the bank with a $20 million cashiers check.
