I recently purchased a Select Comfort bed with adjustable foundation both with 20 year warranty. I was warned by the sales person that the foundation was not returnable. What I was not told was that the 20 year warranty was useless. Year 1 everything is covered. Year 2, and I quote,"This limited 2 year warranty shall not apply unless the defective part is returned to L&P within 10 days of purchaser's receipt of replacement part. Purchaser shall pay all service and transportation cost related to the replacement of the defective part".

Now for the 20 year part: "Electronics, electrical components, drive motors and massage motors are excluded." Since this is an adjustable foundation once any of the electronics or electrical components fail you no longer have an adjustable bed. The least they could have done was prorate the replacement parts and labor. The warranty continues with more exclusions and limitations which in essence make it useless after year 1. I feel ripped off.

#2 UPDATE Employee

L&P makes a great adjustable foundation.

L&P is the #1 manufacture of adjustable beds in America.
It doesn't matter what store or company you buy one from the warranty and return policy is the same.
They have very few problems with their adjustable foundations.
L&P has one service representative for each state, maybe two.
The service reps have other jobs because they would starve waiting for a L&P adjustable to break.
In the 6 years I have been selling them I have had 3 customers call me for information/service on a L&P adjustable.
2 calls were regarding the customer's electricity going out during a storm and the remote had to be reset.
I was able to explain to them how to recalibrate their remote.
The customers was able to get it working again in around 5 minutes.
The third customer had an adjustable that was DOA on delivery and the company brought out another adjustable later that day.
L&P makes a quality product and Select Comfort sells the best one they make.

Your concerns are for L&P. Select Comfort has nothing to do with the warrenty on the adjustable.
