My name is Jack Hinkley and my wife Marge and I had a visit from the infamous Richard Schwartz. We had originally gone online to get information on medicare. We got a call from a Senior Advocate from Medicare, his name was Richard Schwartz.

He was on time and he was a sharp dressed fellow. We sat down and he asked us a bunch of questions and showed us this wheel. I just wanted to know about Medicare. He again said he was a Senior Advocate from Medicare. I was a little uneasy, but my wife liked him, so I went along.

Then he started to talk about annuities. He said for us to qualify for Medicare we have to buy an annuity from his company. We did not have enough money for an annuity so he said we could reverse mortgage our house to get the money for the annuity. He even had the mortgage paperwork with him. All the while he insisted he was there to help us. He showed me his license from the Dept. of Financial Services. He said they were the Medicare regulators. So it seemed fishy. I told him I would give him a call the next day. I called my attorney and he said this guy is notorious for ripping off the elderly. Robert ( my attorney ) said he was a mortgage broker for many years that charged the highest rates in the industry and scammed people for hundreds of thousands and a lot of people are homeless because of them. Now he is in insurance and hurting even more people.
It is a crying shame that industries allow these people to operate.

Scam Artist!

AUTHOR: Nathan - (United States)

POSTED: Wednesday, January 10, 2018

I have never been employed with Senior Solutions but I can speak on behalf of the insurance industry which Senior Solutions is part of. I am extremely sorry that Richard Swartz tried to scam you out of your hard earned money. I wouldn't blame Senior Solutions as a whole because they do background checks on every agent and employee of the company. It's a requirement in every state that they go through a background check and fingr printing that goes through both state and federal databases to make sure that the potential agent and employee does not have a criminal record. I know that because I work for one of their competitors. Yes! I am still backing Senior Solutions up because as a whole they are a great company.

You have to understand that even though an insurance company like Senior Solutions does vigourous background checks it is still impossible to weed out every bad apple if they pass the background check because there is no way a company can know a person's work ethic until they actually start the job. This was clearly the case with Richard Swartz and if you made a complaint to Senior Solutions and the state licensing board that you live in they would probably take away his license but if consumers like you don't make complaints then people like him will continue to knowingly rip people off until the company catches on.

The one thing I can tell you is that to obtain a medicare plan you do not have to sign up to an annuity as it has never been a requirement for medicare and nor will it ever be. The fact that he told you that was a definate red flag. The other red flag would be that he was trying to get you to do another mortgage on your home that in and of itself is completely unethical and I'm sure Senior Solutions had no idea that he tried to do that to you. Hopefully by now he has had his license taken away.

Again sorry for the fact you were almost taken advantage of by a con-artist. Just try to keep in mind that it wasn't the companies fault.
