shellco credit systems ltd. m. katzman Called me about a debt from 9 years ago... lied about contacting the other party when i told him i knew he lied, he hung up the phone on me Concord Ontario

so 8 years ago i lived in toronto with an absuive ex of mine, we had a child and an apartment. which both of our names were on the lease. fast forward a year and i left, moved out of the province away from my ex and told the rental company i was leaving. my ex stayed in the apartment. 

well i guess they evicted him, but only put my name on the order. so 8 years later im getting my kids ready for school my phone rings.. i answer and its a man stating i owe just under $2500 asked for my email. i provide it. stated he was going to call my ex and see if he is willing to clear up the debt. in the mean time i had told him i do not have contact with my ex because truthfully i dont but i do have his contact number... so about an hr goes by i get another email from the debt collector talking about my ex is gonna pay $1200 to clear his name from the debt, but i would hace to pay the remaining balance of $3500 (more than the earlier amount!) so i called my ex, asked if he had heard from the "lawyer" as he referred to himself as. he said no, i explained the situation and he said he would call. so i call mr. katzman back, i told him i spoke to my ex and that he stated he has not heard from him, and that he hasnt agreed to pay any amount. well mr. katzman FLIPPED out for getting caught in a lie and hung up the phone on me. so i check my email and he stated he is going to garnish me because i lied to him... 

this company is a joke. i am getting a lawyer and fighting every ounce of this!!
