Shopping Essentials Plus Unauthorized credit card payments of $19.95/mo. to Shopping Essentials Plus since May, '08. I have recovered last 4 payments. Internet

I saw a $19.95 charge on a credit card statement from a store in CT which I could not identify. I just assumed it was something that I had legitimately purchased from a store in CT since I sometimes travel to MA. Then I noticed the charge appearing even when I hadn't traveled through CT.

In Feb., 2009, I called Shopping Essential's number (888-999-0564) to inquire what their business was and what product or service I was supposedly purchasing. The lady said "Direct TV." I explained that I could not have purchased such a service as I had gotten rid of my TV in my home in the fall of 2007. She gave me the number to their identify fraud person who told me that I needed to contact my credit card company to get the payments stopped.

Note: No one associated with Shopping Essentials seemed concerned in the least that their company might be providing a product or service unauthorizedly, that previous payments might be revoked, or that a third party was receiving benefits unauthorizedly at my expense. My objective in calling them was to get the unauthorized payments stopped once and for all. No one associated with Shopping Essentials took any action to stop the service or product being provided. I take it that this is their usual business practice.

I called Teamster Privilege MasterCard and learned that the credit card withdrawals had started in May, 2008. They could revoke the last 4 payments but no further back than that. I was happy with that and assumed that the problem was solved. Not so fast. In this month's statement, I saw where a $19.95 payment had been made to Shopping Essentials on 2/13. So I'm calling MasterCard to get that payment revoked. I guess this is going to be a monthly exercise until I can close that MasterCard account.
