I received a letter yesterday saying that i could be a mysery shopper. I have received many letters before but not one like this. It seemed very fishy but interesting because I was actually told that there are mystery shoppers out there. When I received the check I didn't believe it so I called the 1-888 number on the check to the bank to verify that it was an actual check and it was, they asked for the check number and told me the amount for the check ($4998). I still believed that it was too good to be true so I deposited into my checking account. I told my bank that it might not be a real check I was kind of skeptical...... Well, to make a long story short, I called the bank they told me the check was a fraud and now my account is -10,000,009.02. I DON'T HAVE THAT KIND OF MONEY!!!!!!! I was hoping that the bank could just let me know that the check was not real and that was it, Im not a criminal and I know that I am not the only one who is going through this. I don't know what's going on I don't want to go to jail for something I had no knowledge of. I hope someone can help me. I have a copy of the letter that was sent to me and a copy of my bank statement. I hope who ever is behind this goes down!!!!!!!

I've had almost the same thing happen to me. I thought if I went into the bank in person then the teller would be able to tell me if the check was fake or not. Of course she did not, and sent the check on through. All the while I did have this orniry little voice inside of me telling me not to go forward--I did it anyway. $300 in my pocket sounded nice....Well because I didn't have $4,000 in my account the bank put a hold on the check to verify the funds. This was a Tuesday and I made a couple small errands between then and Thursday morning with no problems. Thursday evening I go to Taco Bell to get some food and all of a sudden they're telling me that my debit cards don't work....I was completely flabergasted because I had no idea what could be causing this to happen -- each debit card was for two separate accounts--however with the same bank.
It wasn't until I got home and I called may bank that I heared that not only was the check on hold, but now so were ALL of my accounts AND they're in the process of closing right now. ALL of this was happening and I had no idea. Because "I" had deposited this check the bank is holding it as my responsiblity and therefore is removing me as a customer. I also don't have access to any of "my" funds now for about twelve business days. Rent is due in like two days!! What a mess!! If I had known even for a moment that that I could lose my bank accounts I never would've brought that check to the bank--but I was curious and thought it could be true. I'm so pissed at these people but I'm also pissed at myself.
So this has been a very stressfull past few days to say the least--and as much as I've been through, I see I didn't even get the worst of it!! Some people got into it far deeper and I am so terribly sorry for those poor people!! These "Shoppers" Quest scammers need to be stopped!!! I truly hope myself and other people out there will not be treated as the criminals here!!
