Hey, I received an e-mail from "Simon Johnson" saying he was gonna pay me for a photoshoot for a fashion catalog belonging to "Mrs. Daniela Castro" in the amount of $3500.

They said they would send me a partial-payment of $700. However, they mailed me a FAKE CHECK of $3150 even before the photoshoot. Once I received it, they instructed me to keep $700 but send them the rest. They were very persistent to have me Western Union $2450 to:

Tammi Tuthill
17550 NW Freeway
Houston, Texas 77065

Obviously I didn't, cause it didn't make sense for me to send them money. They claimed they were using the funds to cover the photo studio expenses. Complete bullsh*t, so I didn't send them any money. And Western Union just screams SCAM.

Anyways, I just checked my bank statement & have a IRX transaction in the amount of $3150. Basically they wrote me a fake check, and wanted me to western union them $2450. If I DID send them that money, I would have owed the bank $3150 + overdraft fee.

Just letting the other models know, beware of this guy/girl and this sort of scam.

Here's her facebook link I think: http://www.facebook.com/ttuthill1?ref=mf

(I googled the name just now)

Thanks.
If you have anymore info on this person, would much appreciate it.

Photographers and Talent beware

AUTHOR: Scott Downing - (USA)

POSTED: Sunday, September 27, 2009

I am a legitimate photographer who works mostly in the automotive industry.  I received numerous e-mails and phone calls over the past few days from people who had been contacted using this same scam with my name inserted as the photographer for the project for "Mrs. Daniella Castro".  They must be going through photographers listings and picking someone randomly.  They then create some fake e-mail account and then send out a package with the contents of this same scam to unwitting actors and models.  I was contacted by numerous people who found my name by google search and fortunately most of them had the feeling it was a scam.  The scam I was contacted on had an address in Hinkley, California Referenced but they had received their packages from a return address in Chandler, Arizona.  I don't really know how to protect ones reputation from this but beware.
Thanks,
Scott Downing
