This company called me over the phone today and told me I had been approved for a MasterCard. Having recently applied for one, I foolishly assumed this was it. They asked for the usual information to verify...name, address, social security number, and when they asked for my bank's information, although a little bell went off inside me, I gave it to them anyway.

Then I looked them up on the Internet and found out they are a rip-off company. They said there was a one-time fee of $249 for the card, and after that there would be no annual fees, 0% interest, etc. I hung up on them, but they keep calling me back (3 times in the last 20 minutes). I have already called my bank, and they agreed to not honor the transaction whenever it comes in which is good for me.
