I received a phone call on July 23, 2005 from a man by the name of David Edwards stating I was approved for a credit card with a credit limit of $2000. There would be 0% interest for the first three years and after that it would go no higher than 8%. This sounded pretty good.

He told me there is a one-time processing fee of $249 that would be taken directly from my checking account on August 1, 2005. He said I should allow 40 days to receive my card but that it usually only takes about 2 weeks. I would need to call 1-866-847-9287 ext 2000 to activate my card when I received it. He gave me his extension number in case I would have any other questions.

Everything seemed legitimate. He then transferred me to a verification representative by the name of Sarah. During the recorded verification, she asked me to verify my information and what was went over. She also advised me that I could not cancel this agreement. At the end of verification she gave me my activation code and a pin # that I could use when I got the card in the mail.

A few minutes after we ended the call, I thought of something I wanted to ask David so I called the number he gave me and it was a voice mail that said something like "you have reached Customer Service leave a message at the tone". I could not get a real person. I even tried putting in David's extension and it did transfer me but it sait that the representative is not available at this time.

This is when I started to doubt that this was a real thing. I went online to search for their website. I found nothing but this site saying Simple Choice Financial Benefits is a ripoff scam artist.

I called my bank and explained to them what had happened. They issued a new account and transferred my balance. They put a restriction on the old account so that this company or anyone else cannot access my account and it will be closed once my direct deposit is going to the new account. Luckily, I found this out before they got a chance to take money from my account.
