Simplx.com Simplx.com - bait and switch Provo Utah

I wanted to get a list of products that I could sell via drop-ship and they claimed to have over 60,000 items (on the phone I heard 60 million). I have developed my own ecommerce shopping cart program.

Simplx implied that all it would take is a $19.95 application fee, then i could get access to the list of products. When I talked to the rep that called me to "vet my application" he was trying to get me to "pick a product line" before he could approve my application. I explained that I needed to see all of them to see which had the best margins. He said it was VERY expensive to set me up and it would be better if I picked ahead of time. this is the chicken and the egg in my opinion, how can I pick if I don't know the margins and his position was, if you don't pick a product, how can I know if you're serious?

Honestly, that alone should have clued me in - I was frustrated that he was putting up this roadblock, but he said he would send me an email with the list of vendors and rebates they offered. Well, I got the list and it had a heft $499 price tag to "get access" to their products. No where on their website tutorial or in the FAQs did they mention any additional fees to get access to the products.

So I called and requested a refund. Matthew said "I dont' do those" and just paused....finally he said, "are you still there?" I said, "yes, I am waiting for you to transfer me to someone who can do the refund". He transferred my call to "Michael" who told me that if I would just read the Terms & Conditions I would know that it's non refundable and that to get access to the products it would cost up to $3500. I told him this was total bait and switch and that I wanted a refund. He said he couldn't. I said "I know how I can get a refund, I will call the credit card company and request a charge back - and you know what that will do to the rates you are charged on your credit card transactions?" I continued, "Michael, are you familiar with social marketing? I will go online and post in as many places as I can about what a scam Simplx is running. Now, is it worth the $19.95? Or would you like to refund my application fee now?" He said, "are you familiar with defamation of character?"...I hung up. It's not defamation if it's true michael.

I called the credit card company and they immediately did a charge back - in fact, the rep on the phone said, "i have permanently refunded the money." I was like, "I am familiar with the charge back process - dont you have to give the company an opportunity to refute the claim?" She said, "no sir, in this instance, my computer has authorized an immediate and permanent charge back - your money has been refunded."

So - that leads me to believe that this company has had other chargebacks - so many that the master card company I use doesn't even bother to ask the company their side - they must be getting a heft rate from this company - because charge backs cost them money to process.

All in all, I am disappointed because I had hoped to set up some great stores and sell some items utilizing drop-shipping and make some money - all I got was hassle and scams - and for this $19.95 - I have spent a great deal of time telling the world via the internet - Stay away from Simplx.com because it is NOT what they claim on their website.
