Simpson Sheds was listed by a horse barn contractor site, with decent reviews. I cannot believe those are true users of this company. Materials were delivered September 30, 2013; 50% of total cost (to cover materials) was paid. On October 2, the crew worked to frame a barn and another 25% was paid (job was supposed to take 3 days).
Today is October 30, 2013 and no one has been back out. The frame is falling due to weather exposure, the only representative of the company we have spoken to, David Flanagan, makes repeated excuses and gives continual promises that aren't met.
I fear now, we have been scammed by the same Flanagans I see listed on a number of other complainsts. The assure us the work will be finished this week; I will be filing in small claims court Monday.
Do not use this company. Do not pay anything up front.

This customer has not emailed, called or notified Simpson Buildings of any warranty issues.
If you have a warranty issue with your building, pick up the phone and call or email us and we will resolve it.
Its really difficult to resolve if we have not been notified!

Simpson Rebuttal - Misleading at best

The time to tell a customer there will be a two month delay is at the time of order, not after repeated excuses and half-truths. Also, the price we were quoted was a "September Special". The only discount we recieved was a supposed $200 off a $300 piece of metal we were never quoted a price on beforehand, though we asked repeatedly.
Again, as stated in my update. I have proof of all written correspondence.

Buildings finally done(ish)! (Update)

First, a correction to my original report. We paid 60% on September 30 and 20% on October 2.
After threatening criminal charges for my first report (though in Texas, it would be a civil matter); David Flanigan with Simpson Sheds has now requested twice that we remove, or update this report. I assume, since I was never served papers, he found out you can't have some arrested for telling the truth. However, since he has been so adamant about an update, here goes.
The buildings, as of November 7, are as finished as this company will get them. The following are some of the issues we will have to repair ourselves, or pay another company to rectify. None of the gates are hung properly and do not match up. Some support posts are sitting in unfilled holes. Sharp metal edges are easily accessed at the bottom of the buildings. Daylight shows through the roof, we assume from nails being put in, then moved?
The "custom" tack room has no walls, other than the metal shed material and the flooring is so sub-par (and was an additional charge) we have already had to shore it up. The metal is damaged in some areas, we assume from the walls falling down and the material being used anyway. An entire row of screws is missing on the loafing shed. The gates are already showing rust. Those are the items off the top of my head.
The following are customer service issues we ran into. The building we requested is listed as having a number of items included; we were later told they were not, though the web site clearly states they are. Mr. Flanigan is insulting and bordering on abusive in his contact. He was so unhappy I filed the first report, he threatened to contact employers. I could not begin to tell you why, other as a bullying tactic. We have kept all written correspondence and can provide many examples.
We made the first payment on the building September 1. The entire project was supposed to take 3 (4 at the most) days. We had to deal with this company, and get increasingly aggressive, for another 2 months before we got any type of completion.
The deficits in the buildings were pointed out to the foreman the last day he was here; he assured us he would be back the next day to fix them. We were not surprised when no one came.
As a final parting gift, one of the crew showed up at our house the last day, after dark, trying to intimidate us into giving him gas money. He claimed (I have no evidence one way or the other) he had not been paid and the foreman would not take his calls. We called the foreman and he had to threaten the man with the police being called. The foreman then explained that you sometimes have issues when you hire guys "off the street". Thank you for taking that into consideration before bringing them to our home.
We are keeping track of all costs associated with bringing the buildings up to par and have not yet decided whether to pursue legal action. I would in no way recommend this company for any project. We have photos, receipts, emails to substatiate all tangeble items in this report. The statements which are opinion are obvious.

Unfortunately when odd colors are ordered, suppliers take time to make and paint these types of colors. The dark green metal the the customer wanted was received by the supplier, once it was received we installed it and completed both barns.
This customer also recieved over a 900 dollar discount.
Its unfortunate that some dark colors are not instock items. To better serve our customers we have found additional suppliers with better turn around time.
We appreciate this customers business.
