On June 28, 2005, I ordered a "Singer Lazer Storm" vaccum set from a TV informercial. My VISA account was charged $493.70 - at least twice as much as I thought the whole set would cost.

When my VISA statement came in July I was shocked by the overcharging. I tried many times to call the 1-800 number but was always put on hold with a recording. I tried to use the web site that was refered to in their recording but it was only a site for purchasing products with a credit card number.

I kept trying to call the 1-800 number and finally spoke to someone. She agreed to cancel my order, gave me a cancellation number and said that a check would come in the mail.

This was well over a month ago and I fear I will never receive the promised refund. I keep calling the 1-800 number but am always continuously put on hold with no response from a customer representative. My family lives month to month and cannot afford such a financial loss.

Try this number (212) 575-0500. Demand to speak to a supervisor and tell them you want to cancel the order and get your money back. Call your visa company and tell them what happened. I canceled my card so they couldn't take anymore money out. Even though I canceled my visa card they were still able to put the refund back into my account. I'm not sure but I don't think they will send you a check because you used a credit card. They should refund your credit card. Don't let this go. They will refund you. Even if you need to call them everyday.
