I am a long time customer of wireless internet service providers. I originally started out with a company that sold to AirCanopy which was subsequently sold to SkyBeam. I have been with SkyBeam since May of 2009 and within the last year their service and support has been consistantly degrading.

Since around January 2011, I have been trying to get their technical support to resolve speed issues and the loss of a static IP address that I am paying for monthly with no luck. The speed both up and down is about half of what is reportedly available.

Every time I have called their tech support (1-866-411-FAST (3278) - FAST -- NOT!!!) I get a message indicating they are having service outages and the only option is to have them call you back which you never get a call back. I have also tried using their email support and I never get a response with that either.

I wanted to provide this information for anyone possibly looking into using SkyBeam.

Something a friend of mine taught me to do when looking to purchase a product or service is to call their customer support. If you cannot get in touch with a real live person when you do not have the product or service, then you probably will not get it after you have purchased the product or service.

Needless to say, if I cannot get resolutions soon, I will be dropping my service with SkyBeam. Fortunately I do have another provider available. I would highly recommend anyone that is looking at SkyBeam to do their homework and make sure they look at other alternatives if they have them available.

The response from "Employee" regarding being willing to help is a bit lacking. In the response, there was a request for me to send my account information and email address so that the "Employee" could have tech support contact me.

First, in order for me to send who ever responded my information, I need to know where to send it. There was no email address, contact information or anything that would help me to provide this information.

Secondly, as I noted in my initial report, sending an email or leaving a callback number with support basically results in no response at all. So doing that is pointless.

To "Employee" (really is kind of lame to no put your real name, I did), please provide contact information that will get to somebody and I will be glad to provide my information. From my perspective, not providing contact information is just another way of avoiding taking responsibility and ownership of the issues that are present at SkyBeam.

Give me an email to send my information to other than supports email... If you are worried about getting hit with a lot of email, just setup a temporary email account that can get shut down later...

Also note, if this issue gets resolved satisfactorily, I am more than willing to post back the results. I hesitated to go to this level of reporting, but I know if I am having this issue other people need to know about it. I am not the only one that reported issues. There is another report on here for similar reasons.
